Throwback Thursday and orange and blue

Valmin is still hoppy and happy although he looks a bit sleepy in this picture. He is such a goof, and I love how he always likes to smoosh his head into the rug, both when he is desperate to be groomed and when he is just chilling by himself. Mimle is up to mischief as always and begging for food all the time, one could think we were starving her, but we are not.... 

It is October and I am back with a crochet thing I started last year for Halloween but decided to only work on in October to help me get in the Halloween spirit. It was left at the first pumpkin and I have already done the second. The pattern is from red heart and is free from here.

And then for the throwback part, here is a baby-blanket after my brother but apparently I used it too, so it is well over thirty now, but look how gorgeous it is, my aunt crocheted it and I know my mother put it over our prams.

Sorry for the bad picture, the bunnies were "helping" me taking pictures and arranging the blanket so this was the best I could do.

I have finished one secret (not for long) baby bunny blanket and am on the second already from gachastitches which will be out soon. Yay! The pattern is taking a bit longer to write up than anticipated but since we both want the pattern to be good you will just have to wait for it.

Happy Halloween

I gave bribed the bunnies with a lofty and I got to take a few pictures.

 I made a small ghost from Simply Crochet magazine, don't remember the number though, I plan to make more in scrap yarn and make a garland or something....

M and I have this cumbersome duvet cover that was broken, after mending it but making the hole too small to fit the duvet in I decided to repurpose it. It is now our Halloween table cloths;) I just ripped it in the pieces I wanted and we now have four table cloths and a spare thing that I draped over a chair. Our house is looking very festive.

This is my dentist yarn. I have bought some more as prizes for going to the dentist, would you believe I had four cavities one on each side so the dentist recommended we took them one each time, good thing too because last time I had to have five shots of painkillers, I shudder to think what would happen if I did all teeth at once, I would have 30 shots:O

This will turn into a table runner. the pattern is free from red heart. I hope I will have enough yarn, and maybe next halloween it will be finished,

Some other things I did to make the house more festive was to use some paper and make appropriate figures and mount them in the window. When the light is on you can see them as dark shadows on the windows. I thought that looked rather fun. I found that idea on the internet, as well as my next one.

Idea number two also involved paper, a rather inexpensive way to make some festive sights, I made a ghost and a skeleton face on some of our sliding doors. I loved this idea and we have had it like this for the past week. I like to decorate after the seasons, but tomorrow I am taking it all down.

Oh, and my first knitting adventure is finished! I made a pair of socks! They are almost identical, they fit the recipient and I have yarn to spare! Now there's another gift done in time for Christmas, and I finished within socktober too. 

I have started my next pair already, I will master this knitting of socks skill.

My continuing Knitting adventure

I have done it! With lots of help I have managed to knit a sock! And it fits M snuggly on his foot.

My next goal is to make one with lots less help and without any added stitches. 

( I started with 56 and ended with 59, I have no idea how I managed that, but at least I didn't loose any.)

 And I don't have to finish by the end of Socktober, just Christmas;)

And Mimle thinks they smell weird, daddy's feet usually stink more, these socks are practically odorless.

When not worn they look a lot less like a sock and more like something monstrous that resembles a sock but not quite. Valmin seems to think so too.

 In other news, I am preparing for Halloween. I had a party last weekend with my friends and I made these cool coasters. I also decorated and made a small ghost, I want to make more ghosts and make a garland. I hope to have another Halloween post ready later, but I really liked this pattern, the yarn were leftover yarn from my aunt, Sandnes Duo and some thick wool embroidery thread. We al dressed as witches and watched Kiki's delivery Service and Sweeney Todd, I love both movies. :) I had fun well into the morning with a cozy breakfast. The bunnies I think had as much fun, they got lots of treats and pets and the don't really like guests, but my friends are OK. ;)

On Halloween we are going to another party. I wonder what I'll dress up as then...

On Sunday M and I were invited with by a couple and went to see the Martian, I liked it, although the 3D effects hurt my head and the boys behind us were thoroughly obnoxious. Space and the sea are indeed equally frightening to me and I would not like being stranded by myself at all.

I love Halloween, and I have a lot of ideas for different finishes too. But I don't have time before this halloween, but I will surely have it done by next year;)

Still doing my course, and hopefully we will start learning more than just the basics and really start to learn the program. ^^

Last night I left my crocheting needle on the couch, moments later, bunny had stolen my needle and was running around the living room with her trophy. But I did get it back before she had eaten any of it.  
Maybe I should just learn that it is impossible to own any wooden items, because the rabbit thinks they are toys for her...

Oh, and regarding "Deep Space Nine", we have only 16 or so episodes, surely we will have seen all of them in time for the convention?


Her er enda en Halloween-oppskrift, som jeg lovte. Jeg tror den kan bli fin sydd på svart stoff også. Jeg elsker Halloween, og jeg har masse ideer til hvordan man kan lage de ferdige broderiene til forskjellige produkter også. Men jeg har ikke tid innen denne Halloween er ferdig, så det får bli til neste år;)

Holder fortsatt på med Arkiv-kurset mitt, håper at vi snart starter å lære litt mere innviklede ting, selve programmet vi skal bruke. ^^

Igår kveld så lot jeg heklenålen min ligge fremme på sofaen, ganske snart hadde kaninen stjålet nålen min og løp rundt i stua med trofeen sin. Men jeg fikk den tilbake før hun hadde fått spist på den. Mulig jeg bare må lære meg til at vi ikke kan ha ting lagd av tre, fordi kaninen er overbevist om at alle ting av tre er leker bare for henne.....

Åh, og på "Deep Space Nine" så er vi kommet omtrent så vi har 16 sider igjen, vi må da klare å se alle innen vi skal til London?

Soon It will be October

At the moment I am doing a  intensive course on digital archives, which means that I don't have that much time to play around in Mac-stitch. Still, I will make sure to meet my deadline and faithfully put up charts on Bundays. So if you want to make a small cross stitch before Halloween, here is your chance. I am going to make a few charts until  Halloween dawns upon us. ^^

Oh, and I promised some people I met this weekend to make sheep, stay tuned.

For øyeblikket går jeg på intensiv-kurs i digitalt arkiv, så det betyr at jeg ikke har så god tid til å leke  rundt på Mac-Stitch. Men, jeg skal passe på å rekke fristen min og hver søndag trofast legge ut en oppskrift på korssting. Hvis du har lyst til å lage et lite Halloween broderi, så har du sjansen nå. Fram til Halloween gryr skal jeg lage og legge ut noen Halloween-oppskrifter. 

Åja, og jeg har lovt noen mennesker jeg møtte denne helgen å lage noen sauer, følg med.
