Last Minute gifts

Did I mention I got lots of leftover yarn from my aunt at my birthday party? Inside were two skeins of this yarn, the grey orange yarn turned into pink at the end so I used the pink that turned into purple yarn to finish the table cloth and I like it. I have no idea what yarn this is because they were the only yarns in the bag without the tag with them. My aunt is really good with details and having things in order, all the yarns that were the same where in the same plastic bag with labels with them. I wish I was as good when I stashed my yarn, saving the label.

Some of my birthday cards, and the swap card. I love them, they are currently on the bureau I painted which I showed you last time. Looking at them makes me really happy. :)
Sorry for the bad pictures, but boyfriends camera is somewhere else and my mobile takes bad pictures when there is no light.

Oh, and another last minute gift, I made these last night, watching Star Trek the original series, boyfriend does not want to start rewatching Star Trek with me, so I started on my own. Two coasters, one in the TNG font and Picards catch frase, the other I tried to do in the Voyager font, but it was too difficult so I just did my own font. I wish the red one was a bit more in the middle than it is, but I think they turned out ok. As they are I think they are good gifts for the nerdy couple.

I need to buy more coasters, making them is so much fun, and they are useful, which is a bit difficult sometimes to make cross stitch into, useful items I mean.

Oh, and there is snow now, so I am getting into the Christmas Spirit.

Remember not to get them wet though.
Given with some tea or coffee this would be a great gift. I wonder if there are any more Star Trek related beverage sayings...

Only two more gifts to go and one day to make them. One of my gifts I have given up on, (not my fault  the recipient asked for the gift two weeks ago only) so I will just gift the yarn and tell them I will make it asap.
Oh, and I just got the best Christmas gift. My inheritance. Yay me, all done.

So, this is Christmas

Now that the secret season is over, here are some of the gifts I made this year:

Here is boyfriends Christmas-gift. The Star-Trek design I made and Michael Dorn's autograph.

I made this pillow for last Christmas, but I didn't finish it, this year however I did. And a good thing too, because the books I bought for my friend didn't come in time for Christmas.

I made this design, After Rhona's bookmarks in a Cross stitch (crazy?) magazine. Because I was going to give my friend (same friend as in the above text) some Sherlock Holmes books I thought this fitted and made an awesome gift, less awesome I guess without the books. You might not even know it is a bookmark without the books.

Oh, and I have new glasses. Yay. What do you think? Thank you to my mum who bought them for me.

This was also a gift I started last year.... But didn't finish until the last minute. But it was my first crochet clothing and adjusting the granny stripe pattern into a poncho. I like it, the yarn is yummy, but sadly they have stopped making it. So atleast I have some finishes this year;)

Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Bunnies and baubles in bold text

Another Bauble, I must confess I love the colours in this one. They are so relaxing, and kind of like some retro baubles I found at the thrift-marked.

These were my inspiration. I really love baubles. They really help you to get in the spirit? (oh, and the rabbit saucer is a gift from my boyfriend, I really love it.)

The blue Star- Trek design is done. I am almost done with the ship in the black one too. But I decided to tweak the chart a little as I was not happy with it. So we will see how the next one turns out:)

Oh, and this is bunny, begging for a snack. I refused to give her the snack whilst she was in the cage and asked her to come out and get the snack for herself, she declined, so she got only one little dried dandelion from this summer. She was not pleased, but that kind of picture does not seem appropriate on a family-friendly blog. ;)

Froggin' Bunday

Hello, says rabbit. Want me to tell you about my progress? Or lack thereof?

Last night I thought that I fixed the things that were wrong... (The extra words not belonging and the border that was too close to the ship.) But today I realized that there were more mistakes in the chart itself. One R was different than the other so I must fix that.  (sorry about the distorted image, the ipad takes horrible pictures.)
This image shows the colours better. since it is a camera picture.
But then even later I found out that I had made ANOTHER mistake..... The GONE letters are one stitch too much up, and between WHERE and GO there was supposed to  be one more space....
( atleast the mistakes were not in the chart  this time around )
SO all those letters have been frogged. My goal of finishing this today will most definitely not happen. Although I have stitched this so many times now I could have done it if all the frogging did not occur. Oh, well.

Oh, and somewhere in the apartment is a needle that I lost last night, and me and my man tried for an hour to retrieve. Finally we just vacuumed, it is gone, giving me further incentive to believe there is a tiny black hole in our apartment somewhere....

Oh, yeah, and I have found my sewing machine, so stay tuned. (And all the parts to it, and that was a great feat)

Lets look at more pictures of the bunny shall we? On friday we went to the store to buy toys, and the employees at the store brought us Mimle's favorite toy before we had entered the store.

This is mine says Mimle, and marks her toy ^^
And we bought a ball bigger than her, and she loves both of them. Lately she has been given her pellets in the evening in a treat- ball and she drags it around trying to get some food. She gets so exited she doesn't stop and eat the food until she stumbles upon some food miraculously one the floor. Silly bunny.

There is no exiting freebie today. Since I am busy with the stupid frogging.:P But you can look at my lovely baubles? Here is another:
It says: Merry Christmas in norwegian. I am planning to make one in Finnish aswell.

Toodeloo. And all that.

Today is about stars and voyage tea

Can you tell what it is yet? E2 was right, it is the Enterprise. She looks a bit green, but since she is from the 60's series I thought it fitted. I actually love this design, at it is really easy to work on. (just wish the pictures were better, but it gets dark here so fast)
Two of the colours are a bit close to each other, so that proves a bit of a challenge, you can see it in the first nacelle. I solved that by finishing one green colour before starting on the other, as you can see in the other nacelle that is not quite fastened to the rest of the ship. I am actually looking forward to making the one on black aida too. And some nice people at the cross-stitching forum gave me a good idea, just change the colour on the black letters to white or silver. Sparkling of course ;)
And as predicted I could not find my mistake in this piece, so I just finished it as it were.... I really like it. But have no idea how to finish it neatly.... I want an ornament, or maybe a wall-hanger?

Oh, me and my friends had an idea (mostly me, because I always come up with ideas no one have time for:P)
So we have been looking at some fabrics. ( courtesy of Hanne here )
But it is a secret what it will turn into, atleast for a while more:)
Oh, and I just realised, I need more birthday presents.... The ship is a birthday present for my cousin from his birthday in october:S And my mother has her birthday this month and I have nothing for her. The gift I made last year the angel cloth is still AWOL and I can't seem to find it.... I know where I packed it when we moved, and I remember seeing it in storage, and I know it got in the car to our new place, but I cannot remember packing it out. And there are hardly anywhere else to look now.... Maybe my man has to look for it, he and my mother have an uncanny way of finding things I can never find. And since it is a present for my mother I can't think it is appropriate to ask her to come look for herself:P

We are still watching Voyager, and I find it amusing that I keep drinking voyage tea whilst watching the series. I am rather easy to please I guess;)

Almost there.....

Here is another Halloween-chart, as promised. I think it would look great on black aida also.
I love Halloween, and I have a lot of ideas for different finishes too. But I don't have time before this halloween, but I will surely have it done by next year;)

Still doing my course, and hopefully we will start learning more than just the basics and really start to learn the program. ^^

Last night I left my crocheting needle on the couch, moments later, bunny had stolen my needle and was running around the living room with her trophy. But I did get it back before she had eaten any of it.
Maybe I should just learn that it is impossible to own any wooden items, because the rabbit thinks they are toys for her...

Oh, and regarding "Deep Space Nine", we have only 16 or so episodes, surely we will have seen all of them in time for the convention?

Since it is Bunday, here is bunny, sneaking some hay from a different angle than usual. She opened the lid by herself. #cleverbunny

I was up all night.

And I made this. ^^ I tend to go for less colours so that the piece will be less expensive to make. But I will eventually teach myself to make bigger things with more colours.

What do you think?

/edit: fixed a spelling mistake and made the border more symmetrical.

Bunday today and a treat

I made this, a Star-Trek bookmark. the dimensions is a little odd for a bookmark, but I liked it that way. :)

My new goal is to once a week upload a small free chart for you. We will see how far I come:)
But it is important to have goals, don't you agree?

After all it is bunday today, so a picture of bunny is in order^^

Here is a finished version of the bookmark. In blue, because after all, blue is Spock's colour, and he is the one saying "live long and prosper" so it is only fitting.  If you want the darker yellow could also look nice as a border.

I could not help myself

Halfway through Star Trek ; The original series and I started a new project. I can see why my little one love this person so much. So, this will be a present for her.
I want to make the whole series ^^ That would look really cool.

The design is from deviantart. *black-lupin. I love this design.

Jeg lager gave til min lille kusine. Hun liker virkelig denne mannen fra Star Trek. Hvis jeg finner en av Picard, så skal jeg lage den til henne også.
