Finished Friday

I have some finishes to show you and since it is finished Friday today what better than to show off what I have done these past few weeks?

I have found my stitching bug again, yay! And I started and finished this lovely little biscornu turned into a scissor-fob which I will put in my gift-pile.

Here is the back of the same biscornu and I finished the boy-bunny, I still have one more in this series and am contemplating wether to start it now or do it next Easter, I love having seasonal things to do in its season, but it would also be lovely to actually have a finish...
And then there is the daffodil in the middle which I started just over Easter, that too is finally finished after I frogged the middle yellow since it was stitched in the wrong place. You would think that I learned my lesson and properly look at the chart, well, I did the same with the darkest green, stitched all the darkest green and then realised it was wrong and had to frog that too. And when it was finally done, I had lost the frame.... I was mad, but as things want to do, it turned up, the same day my beautiful pink scissors and needles set from Tulip did. That was indeed a happy day.

And I finished another bib, the bigger pink one, made a heart on the blue bib and started a third bib, this time in pale pink, but it won't have scallops I think...
And the pink thing in the background of all the pictures is my granny stripe baby-blanket which is way over half way already, just one more skein I think!
So far I have finished One whole skein of pink, but started a second.
The pink for the blanket is already up to five balls I think, but since it is not finished I will not count it.

So, 70 grams out in baby-bibs and 200 grams of scarf
and
350 grams in these past two weeks.

So I am not doing too well on my two out one in yarn policy, but that might be because of all those half finished things, if I finish them properly I might have more success.
Hey, scratch that, I forgot I had the knitted scarf finish, I never made a proper post about it, but I did finish the blue/green scarf the other day, I will take a picture and show you later, so I think my policy is working better than I thought... Yay me.

Finished Friday

But I almost forgot to post. I finished my shawlette (I learned a new word too, apparently a shawlette is a small shawl, so I thought it fitted) yesterday night and laid it to block all night, I still need to iron out some creases though, and when I have done that I will give you the measurements.

But it works perfectly as a scarf as well, and yes, that is my foot for comparison.

My friend has contributed to my bouquet,  I love the colours, the good thing about asking people to make flowers for you is that you get new yarn and colours. Plus it is fun and I love having things that others have made for me whilst thinking of me. Doesn't everyone?
If I have ever made anything to you it means I like you.
I wonder if I get any knitted ones for my bouquet as well?

Look! We have flowers in our garden!

And a bike! And they match!
I was a good girlfriend today and whilst with my mum we went to the shops and bought some stuff, had lunch and picked up boyfriends bike, I hope he'll like it.

And since I finished my shawlette I started another in thicker yarn. I hope this one goes a little faster, and that I have fewer mistakes, I only counted five on the last shawlette so it is moving forward. The light pink is from stash and the variegated one I bought at a sale, because I needed some wool to go with my stash buster yarn. Naturally I had to buy two skeins since they were on sale. I might not be stash busting as much as I think I am.
Hehe.

Oh, lucky me

My new cool stitching-stash.

Finally, after years of wishing, I got a magnetic needle-bunny.

And, from boyfriend I got a needle cutter pendant and ring. ^^Now I can take my stitching on the plane with me!

And from my friend I got all of her leftover floss from all of her kits, about four of those! :) Guess how many cards I can make from these!

And, from her leftover stash that is now mine, mwhahahaha, I made this bell from the same series as the one I made the other day. ( Guess who has plans to NOT make presents until thee 23rd of December next year? That would be me, so I am making a head start, I have bought a small thing for boyfriend, which was on half price sale, and now I have made these two starts! I am going to finish them like in the last post, with just filt backing and front and a little bow. )
I felt so good about myself I made another one in the series, my cousins wife started it and I finished it. You know, when I go somewhere I always bring enough stitching for me, and if someone wants to have a go, and on more than one occasions it has turned out great. At this family- party I stitched the bell and she wanted to get back her stitching mojo, and did half the star, but then she had to go home with her kids who were getting tired and could not wait for her to make JUST-ONE-MORE-STITCH! So I came to the rescue. I am guessing that the cousin who got the first snowflake from the previous post will get this star next christmas^^ ( oh, and the aida on this one is pink too)

Oh, and it is STILL snowing, :)

Spring Bouquet

I know it is not quite spring. It is still a full on winter here. But I wanted to make this little fellow nonetheless.

Now, I usually love DMC, and this is no exception. I am still young enough to see the holes ( my relatives complained the holes were too small). But I loved the fabric, it was really easy to sew on. And the colours on this. How the different shades of lilac complement each other. I know purple bunnies are few, but the somebunny range look like bunnies none the less, even if they are purple and patched.

The backstitch took me two days. The bunny in one sitting and the flowers in another, very quick by my standards. I usually hate doing the backstitching, but always love the result. I don't know if I have gotten older or wiser or if Somebunny really is a treat and easy to do, but the threads just flew away.

I can honestly say that even though bunnies are my favorite thing in the world, it is not just because of the bunnies that Somebunny to love is my favorite character to make. It is the colours, the expressions, the whimsical patches and plumpness of their little bottoms that makes me love them so. And they do finish quite fast too.

I give this range and this bunny in particular a five stars out of five. ^^

How do you feel when all is said and done?

Oh Joy. Spock Is Done. I love him, it looks so great. And I am sure she will love him even more.

I read a book yesterday, it was not as sad as the "The time travelers wife", but it was a good book. And so I recommend it. It was called "Her Fearful Symmetry".

Now, what will I stitch while we watch Star-Trek? Maybe it is time to make another Character? Lets finish the 22 Christmas presents that are left first then maybe...

Number 22:

So, now, I have started another stitch, another Christmas present.
Can you see it? Man and I were listening to Busted and singing along while I stitched yesterday. And both wondered why we didn't do that more often.

My guess is because we watch approximately three episodes of Star Trek a day.

Year of the rabbit and other owls

This is a picture before I realized that I had made a mistake and had to unpick two hearts. But they do look great. ^^ I love owls. Wonder what I am going to make them into... But I know who will get them though.

And I know, I don't particularly like yellow either, but it does look good. All three owls sharing one colour, brings the piece together and yada yada yada....

Reminds me of those three monkies with their respective hands on mouth, ears and eyes. Don't know why...

I love this. Oh so oriental. And another bunny finish;) The hanji (chinese character) means bunny.

And against all odds, I didn't have to buy more floss to finish either.

And now, since I have made three finishes (one is a birthday card and since the recipient reads my blog I cannot show it) I can oh, so slowly start something new... Need to at least finish the owls though. (But if I know myself, and I do, since I am me, I will start something new and small because these owls bore me.... I unpick almost more than I sew...)

Monkey business and other business.

This a monkey, for the boyfriend. Don't say I didn't start early, this is his stocking for next year. ;)
And he thought it was his present this year, aww, bless him.

Look at his eyes, it is a french knot. FRENCH KNOT. I did it, I learned it all by myself. And how I loathe those french knots. Typically french.

Another Tadah-Business! This is the rabbit all done. And see how much better it looks than with those awful feet?
And I must say, I loved doing the tree. Maybe my friends mother was right, maybe I would love to sew like she does?

Guess What I Did?

But the rabbits were all done, and I have only two potholders, two cross-stitches, a hat, an angel, and one more item to do before christmas? I have time to make some more? Right?
And those cards I was making, you may ask, or rather you may not, because the cards are on hold atm.:P

Another one bites the dust

Oh well. Finally, something is done. And this I started this summer so it was about time too. ;) But due to a shortage of yarn it had to wait for a long time. But hey, better late than never? My friend will get it, because the colours really suit her.

And she knows she will get it too, so it is no surprise and I can show everyone. I tried making backing for the first time, training for my big rabbit-backing adventure.

I really love this fabric. Also especially bought for the recipient of the gift. I hope she likes it.

Oh, no, another wip. ;) Can you tell yet what it is???
I oh so love this kit and I think everyone should get one. The yarn is really easy to use and the directions were clear and the fabric is wonderful. Not stiff either. Oh I love it!

Another wip. What do you think? How many am I currently doing? I have no idea, but I think it is almost ten cross-stitches and five crochet items.
On top of that I am painting those Christmas presents and there are still some Crochet Gifts Ideas I have...

When will there be enough time for everything? ;)
