Snowflake Table Runner in the Making

I started! I have been moaning about not having time to make myself one of these table runners so I started. I have three more rounds of the first one and there is only two more to go. If I finish once a week in between my more pressing things I might get finished sooner rather than later and in time for next winter, because this winter is surely lacking.

Also my bunny tried to kill me yesterday. More on that later, I am off to the library before they close for the month!

A-Z Challenge W

W is for Wips or Wisps

If we follow my UFO reasoning I don't have many UFOs but I would have a ton of Wips and Wisps...

A Wip is a work in progress and a Wisp is a work in slow progress (which is why I think a UFO is something you have given up on rather than just something that isn't finished yet)

So would you like to see my ton of Wips and Wisps? Here are my crochet Wips and Wisps, a skirt, one afghan, three baby blankets and one lapghan. Maybelle squares that might turn into a blanket, a shawl that I am unsure if I still have the pattern for, one finished and one started mitt, and a scarf/shawl depending on how much yarn I have. All in all, not that many projects on the go, and I have finished some of my longer Wisps lately, like the baby bunny blanket. I have another wip though  that I didn't take a photo of which is Mister M's vest.

Not too many projects right? Some that are easily portable, some that require brainpower and some that is just a breeze to crochet, I usually do these when I have company over or when M and I watch TV.

So 11 wips and wisps, but I am not quite sure where it turns into a wisp, I think that the colourful lapghan might be my only real wisps as all the others have had a stitch or two added this year....

Then there are the cross stitch things I have found so far, there may be a couple of others....

Some small cards, some bigger things, mostly bunnies and some are presents that I want to finish. Frederick is on black aida so I have given up doing him when it is too dark, but here in this apartment I have lots of light so it might be time to take him forward in the pile, just need to finish some of those smaller ones first I think.

16 cross stitches, and I know I have five more starts somewhere in the office.....

I think only two of these have gotten any stitches this  year so they are all wisps.... I will need to finish two before I can start something new, that is the policy and we will see how well it works over the next few weeks. Please cheer me on.

Regarding knitting, I only have three starts, one blanket, one sitting pad and one jacket so I didn't take any out to take pictures of today. I wonder which of those will be finished first... I have promised hats and socks and perhaps mittens for Christmast this year so those might be bumped up their queue...

Do you have more wips than me or do you feel appalled by my startisis and lack of stamina to see things through? I have seen some who actually have more starts than me, thankfully, I sometimes feel like I am a lost case.

Bunday

Bunday should be lazy, but we were busy rummaging in the storage room and thus found lots of exiting cross stitching stuff we put there when we had company in the craft room last Christmas so I spent the rest of the day looking at it and wondering why I never finished x-number of cross stitches.

Plus we did chores which was boring... But look I have progress on several wips!

I picked up an old Wip today and finished the boy's hair, next is the girl. Can't remember why I put this down. Must have been another case of startisis. I am very close to finishing my knitted scarf but sadly my crochet scarf is taking forever and the yarn isn't as soft as I would have hoped... Plus side, I have learned the pattern so it should go faster now.

There is no bunday without a bun-picture. Here is Mimle, in a blur because she is busy eating as always. I hope to see you tomorrow for an exiting c!

Rocking Horse and bunny

Yes, I am still chugging along on this, whilst we are packing out of two flats, going to finish the horse's head first, then go backwards and see if I can manage around that pesky mistake on the wooden rocking bit… I hate when I make a mistake like that because for me things always have to be perfect, there is no almost, at least if I am going to keep it for myself because I will always know there is a mistake in something however small, but my recipients will not...

I do love how I divided the backstitch and did the bunny right after finishing that portion, the backstitching seem less daunting now, and the bunny looks fabulous! 

We are running low on hay, we are buying tomorrow, but just in case to make the hay we do have left last longer we went outside to fill up Mimle's tummy. We have given her a little piece of dandelion and grass for a few days now. Plus we found a branch. Too bad it is birch, which is what we think I am allergic too so my nose and head feel as if they are falling off. But bunny loves eating the leaves and killing the branch. I am thinking I need to get my botanical skill up to speed so that we can forage more.

- Om nom nom says bunny.

Since we are moving this summer we might not have the time to dry dandelion and nettles…. Bunny is going to be so sad :/ My wallet too.

The Year of the Blankets

Are you tired of blanket updates yet?

All of these blankets were wips, and my hope is that I will have them all finished within the year so that I can start some more blankets, because you can never have enough blankets. I need to make a ripple and granny stripe blanket! I have an urge and it won't stop until I fulfill it. So I am trying to finish these off. I am pretty sure one of them needs to wait for a while because I am out of yarn, and that yarn is expensive, but I am saving so lets stay hopeful shall we?

Oh, how I loved this when I started it. Pattern from Ravelry. One of my first starts from there too. 

The yarn is a discontinued yarn Helen from Novita. But I managed to snag some more colours of this when I was in Sweden a couple of years ago, so each row will be a different colour I think. With grey as a border. I might take this one completely apart and start again. Making each square a different colour and the grey as a border and to crochet them together. I have only two different pinks and one purple 

  and the grey those not really suit it as anything other than a border…. But I do have four or five skeins of each colour so I guess the blanket will be baby sized. Unless someone finds me some more yarn.

This blanket you should know. It is not finished, and I am waiting for my mother who bought some yarn for me to make it bigger. I want it to reach from my toes to my head. At the moment it stops at my chest :)

 This is my longest blanket Wip, I remember my mother helping me to get this started right after I finished my first ever Granny blanket. And since then I have learnt a lot about yarn and techniques, but I still love this blanket, even if it takes forever to do. I have used up some of the yarn since, and that is partly why it has taken so long, to find suitable colours to continue. I feel a bit impressed because I have lost the chart since, but, I am able to continue anyway because the pattern is fairly simple, but that only means that my skills have improved since starting, because that is something I would have needed my mothers help with…. Too bad though that the pattern is missing, because I remember it had a lovely edge around it…. If anyone has the pattern please let me know, I think it was from Familien, and the pattern was called sukkertøy something. But I think I will survive without it, so don't stress. :)

Two are finished! Yay Me. And hopefully the first one will soon be delivered to my cousin, if not by me, then by mail or something. :)

I am truly in love with this blanket, even if the white makes me a bit to scared to really use it as I am a real spiller and spill most of my food when I am eating. Yes, I always have food on my face and clothes after a meal. I am a real clutz.

Another Wip down

Yes, I had only a few lines left to do on this, and other than me and backstitching not really being on the best of terms I have no idea why this took so long. But it is finished now, and only one more wip to do before I can start that cute little penguin card that I got in this months WOXS. (207)

Even if we pretend it is still summer, Christmas will soon be upon us and it is best to prepare so you have all the gifts and cards on time.

But I will go back to the bunnies I am doing, maybe I will be done this week so I can start on the holiday preparations. 

I kept smiling because I didn't want you to hate me

So it is Tuesday tunes again, and I have two songs that I like this week:) The first is in Chinese and the other in Japanese. Edit/ I found the actual music video for the Chinese one, and it has a Alice in Wonderland theme. #happy

And since this is a stitching blog, here is a little guy I've been working on:) He is worked in one strand, which I don't like, but as he was a freebie and I don't have enough spare thread I just have to live with him looking a bit faint. But if I make him again I will make sure to use two strands. :) I love somebunny to love so I am certain I will make another if someone I know will give birth to a little boy^^

And I have made the bird from WOCS 204, but I as it will be a birthday card for someone who occasionally reads my blog I will not show you a picture. (most of you know how it looks I presume  too so)
But when gifted I will maybe out it up in my cards section.

The title today is from the above song, my favorite line from it, and I really can relate to it, but other than that it has no deeper meaning for this post. 

Start me up/living on a prayer/ Ding Dong

So it is Tuesday Tunes here in the rabbit cellar. 

First I wanted to show what I have been stitching on. Boyfriend and I have been spending most of these hot summer days inside playing playstation as both of us have come down with a summer cold. Therefore I needed something easier than Henry to spend time on and started on this alien looking character. I had to include the picture of how it will look when finished because it just looked so unappetizing and foreign with just the white and no other features. I think when finished it will look really good. I like these simple designs that still look like something you want to hang on your wall. 

And here is the song currently stuck on my mind. It is actually two, and neither is Japanese!

Oh, the other video? I don't think there is a good video on youtube... But this will do. The song is obviously from Glee. And I have been singing it nonstop.

Chansu ga matteru

Oh yeah. (You'll understand if you read the whole post;) 

 My beads have arrived and I have started beading, the beads are not really the right colours, instead of gold I got antic gold which looks more like mustard yellow, but it works and I have no intentions to buy more.... The white looks more clear and the red looks like bright christmas red and not the red from the picture. But I am a bit fed up with all the beads and knots and all, and just want to GET ON WITH IT! Hehe. And I realized that I am not done with the grey on Henry after all even if I have broadcasted it everywhere, because his arm is grey too. DUH. And I am not done with his reds either, because, well, his clothes in the left corner is not done yet. What was I thinking about when I said I was done with both the red and the grey on Henry but still knew he was not done. You can see that with half an eye that he is lopsided and not done.... I must have been thinking he was done everywhere except his head. And I do know his head does not utilize red or grey, that is my story and I am sticking to it!

Another book down too. This was a goal I kept, so I am feeling happy and accomplished. (never mind that I did all that book sewing on Sunday and completely forgot WiSP Sunday AGAIN). We'll just pretend that didn't happen and continue to bask in the glory of a job well done.

I have started on the bird, which is this weeks goal. 

Tomorrow is a holiday so I will spend the entire day in stitching. Yay.

 We found some wild yummies for bunny today, and she was very thankful. First dandelion of the year.

I like living in a small town, no one is around looking weirdly at me when I find some edibles for the bunny in a ditch and precariously hold my shopping bags (this always happen when my arms are full anyway) and bend over in a ditch.... I must look very idiotic, but I don't know because no one has been around to tell me. (except boyfriend but he does not dare to tell me I look ridiculous.) But free treats for bunny is always nice, too bad we found them after buying herbs for her...

Almost home today, MIL was standing at the mailbox carrying free cake. YAY! Wish she had come before we went to the store, would have saved us buying cake;)

One of two Hello!Project song on my mind: I love this. This is Zoku Biyuden, not that I don't love old Biyuden, but since this  video had "Only you" AND "koisuru ANGEL heart" I had to choose this.

Ah, I wish I could go to France this summer and see the girls in C-ute. (yup, that is the groups name, not to be confused with this group that is singing, because as stated that is  Zoku (new)Biyuden, with two Morning Musume members (one of them has already graduated and not the one who is tone-deaf :X) and one Berryz koubou member.

I'll show you a proper music video, from morning musume. I hated the song when it was released, but I find myself singing to it daily... So I had to include it. Can you find the two members from the song above?

What, is it sunday again?

Did I tell you the bunny was molting? Hehe. All over my cross stitch. :) But I prefer that over her hopping into my lap and stealing floss or chewing on the chart. (the main reason my charts are in see- through-plastic)

 And, look at bunnys castle? She loves these boxes, the Panduro one is full of grass. This is were she spends a lot of her interior decorating time. 

 See, she has made the floor of her box all smooth with extra shavings to sleep in.

 I have not done a single stitch on my WISP projects yet, but I have done a lot on Henry. The page is almost done too.. 

 Oh, oh, my chocolate was delicious! Look what it says on the wrapper... Did they hurt any bunnies or horses in the making of this chocolate? And thank god, this product is vegetarian, because who wants meat in their chocolate?????

 Hello; says edible rabbit before I turned him over so I could eat him. I did not have the heart to let him look at me while I devoured him.

Last update picture of the day. I am going to go and start something new, because that particulate project has a to do date somewhere in the near future. By saying this at the end of my blog I am hoping no one will notice me being naughty.

Gorjuss Bunny

The last couple of days I have been feeling a bit ill, so Henry has had a vacation. But I did find an old WIP. And have started it again. And besides a little weirdness in the dress I have no idea why she was put aside. ( I am guessing it was because she is for me and maybe I had to make something for someone else and she was just forgotten in the mix)

So far I have finished the face and feet and now I am on the background and then I have the backstitch left. I will finish this before I start on Henry again. The place I found this also held a lot of WISP's, so I have another goal. One day a week will be WISP day. SO there.

I am very ashamed but, here you go from waay back.

I slept all day yesterday and awoke around five in the morning hungry, so I gave in and made something to eat. Bunny was trilled I was awake and sat on the sofa chirping her teeth at me ( the equivalent of purring). It was indeed a gorjuss moment.

My current BIG WIP

So, this is how far I had gotten on "Henry the eight and his six wives" yesterday. One leg down.

I have been thinking I want to stitch this one grid at the time, to minimize mistakes. And I have a goal, to make 100 stitches a day, which I feel at the moment is manageable.

Last night bunny-chan really wanted cuddles right before I went to bed, I gave her a little and then opted for bribery so that I could leave the room without much fuss. She got herself stuck in the remnants of her tunnel in the search for alfalfa hay.

Luckily I was there to help her out of it (after I took these pictures) and removed the toy from her cage. Guess this toy is now only for supervised fun.

As of this nights session "Anne of Cleves" is also begun. Now that I have started this kit I want to read Philippa Gregory's books again. Does anyone know if the movie of Anne Boleyn is any fun?

 It might be a bit more contemporary to watch whilst stitching this particular piece than Charmed. ( I am btw almost done with season 2). The Tudors might fit too, and I have that series on DVD, so my goal with this stitch is to finish at the same time that I have watched all of Charmed and The Tudors. Think it is possible?

Somebunny is collecting flowers

I could not help myself and as soon as the Spring bouquet was done I had to start another little somebunny. She looks so sweet. As you can see I am having fun with the variated thread. (the blue flowers) I am making small progress to be honest, but I blame that on the series we are watching at the moment, twin peaks.... Now watching that show means you have to keep your tongue in one place.

Back to the stitching. This year I have some goals.

And I did not want to tell you my January goals, but since I am more than halfway let me tell you regardless.

This January My goals were:

Finish the little Peter Rabbit: Not done much

Make the pillow: Needs sewing

M Poncho crochet: More than Halfway

My mother's Cloth: Done

G Pot Holder: Done

As you can see none of the little somebunnies are on the list, that is just for extra fun, and I gather instead of the Peter Rabbit one;) But shame on me, that pillow was supposed to be a Christmas Present and it is still not done! This Saturday I am going to have a Wip finishing day. So there.

Once, I made these cards, then I forgot

I have some best-friends, as most fortunate people have. And here are some of the cards I made to some (well actually two) of them.

All my friends love cats, so I made one cat. Because I however am more of a rabbit person. This is Card number one. Remember the Cat-pillow I made? I used the scrap-floss and made a Margaret Sherry cat in a teacup.

And since I have a very nice and craftsy aunt, I am the proud owner of a thing that cuts out shapes of paper. And woe and behold, the kit contained one that made cats, how fortunate.

Another friend another card^^ This time, a cupcake card. She likes to bake. ^^ Not that much to say, except cards are a great way to use up scraps. And it looks so good too.

I Will Kill you Mosquitos

A bit blurry, but this is Eeyore. He has always been my favorite in Winnie The Pooh.

The little spot in the fabric is where I killed a mosquito. I am very allergic to bites, so it seemed worth it at the time:P Guess maybe tomorrow after the wip is washed I might take another picture, but I did want to show you my insect-killer skills. Lol.

And by popular demand, now here it is in Norwegian too.

A Finish and something for show

I made this on vacation. Isn't she cute? Her name is Pink Lady, you know like the apples. Of course she is a childrens toy and thus was really easy to sew. She came in this cool box too, so you can see why she came home with me?

And I went to the red cross store, and found these lovely birds, for a bargain too!

Am thinking they will fit in our cabin.

And and and, they are even in thicker yarn too, so probably they will just whisk away before you know it:P

The finish, the real finish and not child's play. I made this hedge rabbit, 3 pounds on sale from sewandso. And speaking of sewandso, I just could not help myself and bought seven more kits from them that were on sale. I really love small kits.

The blue lady

I started something new. It is so hot I needed something small to work on.

I will call her "The blue lady", I figure she will be done tomorrow. I think that I have watched six episodes of "Bones" today too.

I want to make the pink and green one too...

But, best of all, no french knots and limited backstitch!

The big WIP finishing day

I am making progress on my WIP-pile. Today, I finished one of my bunny pillows, and I am done with the Fuzzy Moon card. (picture to come)

Did I tell you that I am done with 1 out of 2 wedding-cards? Just need to buy cards... I did tell you that, I remember now.

But! I am almost done with the owls, my friend told me a fun pun, and I am making moss under the owls, and then I need to make the letters on it. It will be great, can't wait to show you! Need to go finish that. And then, need to find more WIP's so that this will be the big WIP finishing day!

Here is the Fizzy Moon card. I cheated on the french knots again.... I am going to put him under some books again, so that the glue will stick, but I had to take him out to show you, I just could not help myself... ^^

My Christmas sock is done. I am practicing my machine sewing, but I am still not very good.... But, hoorah, it is done. My friends will probably recognize the top fabric. ;) But I did not wear them much, too small;)I got the idea from E2 to reuse the panties.

Backstitching done. And it only took me two hours... Don't ask me why I didn't do it sooner. But better late than never. Also, am waiting for it to dry, so that I can add letters and a heart. ^^ Aishiteru Anata <3
