The Wedding Blanket Squares Twenty-Five

I Love this square, super fast and super fun. I mean there are both cluster stitches and spike stitches what is not to love. It is dense and lovely and would even suit a potholder I think, I love this square but I already said that.

21x21 cm again and a little under four hours to make and possibly around 30 grams.

*Kio's square. This time I love both squares just as much and it makes me think a whole blanket in this pattern but in different colours would be smashing. This pattern makes me think of candy somehow.

And we are in Japan, Yay. I want to buy everything! And this weekend is the concert.
So this is a short post even though I wrote it beforehand.

Monday and Maybelle

Since it is still May I thought it fitting to make some more Maybelle flowers which eventually will turn into Maybelle Squares and then perhaps a blanket... I am thinking a sand colour on the squares, but we will see.

I had 17 flowers when I picked it up yesterday, and I now have made 19 more.
I have added some more colours, but I do think I will look around to see if I can find more blues and lilac colours. Perhaps even...gasp...yellow.

All yarn is cotton from Søstrene Grene and I am using a 1.5 hook.

And Mimle got a new toy which she loves, she throws it around all the time, too bad for me because it has a bell inside >.<

Oh, and congratulations to the proud parents and little kawaii-chan, I can't wait to meet you all.

Bunny and Blanket

Bunny is molting AGAIN, and feeling poorly AGAIN. She eats and we are monitoring if something comes out the other end, but so far nothing…. I am giving it another hour before I call and get an appointment. Stupid bunny. I comb and comb and she molts and molts. At the moment she is hiding under the sofa, but she just ate some alfalfa hay.

But in other happy news, I have finished my blanket! And yesterday I took some pictures outside.

There is one more row of white on the border than on the pictures.

I quite like it, even if my attempt at complete random placing of the squares failed and I ended up with a
pattern, so then I went with it and made more patterns. It fits one person. (at least one in my family since we are not tall people).

Measurements will follow.

And to finish here are some pictures of bunny yesterday when she was feeling happy.

Even if she looked a bit funny.

Miscalculated in Pink

So I have decided to make my blanket 120 squares, I have not decided in what fashion these new squares shall be linked, (well, I have decided on the join as you go method for joining, but that is not what I am talking about here. ) how long should it be or how wide. My blanket used to be 10x6 in my head, but now that I will increase the number I am thinking more like 15x8. But we will see. As of now there are 16 squares not fastened but finished, 60 are fastened and finished and so if my calculations are correct (which they certainly are not I reckon because math and me are arch enemies) there would be 44 squares left to make…. So we will see how far I get before I get too bored.
I am seeing numbers before my eyes now, not a very good sign, I am not very confident in my math so I hope boyfriend wakes up soon so that he can look it over. Yes, I am really that hopeless in math.

But I will finish this blanket this year even if it kills me.

It looks a bit more like a proper blanket, on top of my old granny square blanket. (Which is bigger than it looks in this picture because it is draped behind the chair.)

I am still enjoying this project, I usually stop a project when it is not fun anymore and I sincerely hope I will love this until I am done with it.
