It is official

I bought a new phone, finally. My old one was barely hanging together and was doing weird things.
and surprisingly it is not pink:O Kind of shocking, right?
it is an Xperia Compact z3, so not the newest, but that does not matter I think.

It is, wait for it, wait for it! Green!
It is a lot more shocking green than it was advertised, but I do like emerald. It is after all the colour of my oshi in Morning Musume 15, Sato Masaki, so I guess I got used to it.

but yes, it might be official now, I like green.

Redesigning and rethinking pink

I have started the journey to redesign this ottoman like thing. And boy there were lots of nails on this. So many in fact, that when I removed the covers and nails I feared for the structure of the wood when I put some new fabric on it so I guess I need to go to a hardware store to get a new top. Was planning on using this not just for storage but for guest to sit on so it needs to both look good and not cave in when sat upon.

Bunnies got some dried dandelion from grandma's house. And so far I like how it was dried, I simply took a box and filled with newspapers and placed the dandelion on it and voila, a week later and the bunnies are having a feast.

So far my superscecret dress is on the third ball of yarn, here I am just finishing up the front and am about to start on the bust, so I think I will have plenty of time to finish this.
I think the color of this is more accurate in the first picture and the second is somehow upside down.

It measures 54 cm high but there are more than the 60 rows that the pattern states, but I think the cm is more important in this piece.
I haven't done anymore on the knitted garment yet because I want to finish one half of the dress first.

My new regime seams to be working, at least temporarily, the gel makes my face seem pale during the day and by night the effect has worn off and I look all red again, so I hope the tablets give me a more lasting effect. I love pink, just not on my face, I am a bit worried that I can't wear pink anymore because it makes my face look even more pink. I guess my love of rosa made me all rosacea. (yes, the bad joke most joked about in our household these days)

Hello and Happy Easter

My scarf is finished! I finished it last weekend in fact, and I didn't even use up all the yarn. But I did use almost all of the two skeins of Sandnes Kitten and Mohair in 4622.
It measures 158 cm long and 15 cm wide, just enough to have twice around my neck.

Lately Valmin has started begging, he'll jump onto the sofa and stare at me, I can't resist and give him a pellet. Next I will try and coax him to actually get in my lap to get the treat, Mimle does that but Valmin is still a bit skittish.

Oh, and here is my bouquet. Not finished yet, I need more flowers and more leafs. I really like the dark pink one, think I need to make more of that one.
If anyone wants to make some for me let me know, it is still not too late.

I have started knitting, even if I suck at it, but practise makes perfect so I consider this practise, which is why it will turn into something for me. This yarn was on sale at Nille so I bought four skeins, I hope to make a small shawl or triangle scarf for myself. I LOVE the colour, matches my pantyhose and socks right?

That is how far I was when I was halfway into skein one about ten cm, I have now finished skein one but it is too dark to take a proper photo and it is almost 25 cm long :) I will just continue knitting it until it is a proper triangle, and then I hope I have enough yarn to crochet a border.

Mimle is however not pleased, this is the look I get when I DARE to pet her whilst she is eating a snack... But today we vacuumed so I hope we will see some binkies later by both bunnies:)

Oh, and happy easter, I will try and make something easter-y one of these days.

Accessorizing the season

I am sorry about jinxing everything. Yesterday I said it was springtime, but today it snowed all day... So I guess I was wrong.  I don't feel too bad about making those hats now, fitting the season and all. I had made the decision to take a break on that snowflake table cloth until it started snowing again so I might just have to start on it and actually finishing this season because of the snow and all.

Here I am knitting a second hat. I am starting to get a hang of this hat business. Yay progress, although it takes forever making in comparison to my crochet skills. But I do remember I used to be really slow at that in the beginning too so there is room for improvement.

Here is the scarf I started yesterday in the same pattern as the last one, and I have high hopes this one will be long enough to wrap a couple of times around the neck and I am making it all for me.

I have made a few flowers too for my secret project. I need more pink in different shades I think, so it might not turn out to be cheaper than real flowers in the end, but it is more fun and less stressful.
If anyone wants to join in and make some for me let me know.

I was going to show you this thing that I made the other day, but as I said it started snowing and I couldn't take pictures outside. Can anyone guess what I have made?

So there

Our water boiler died the other day and boyfriend asked me to buy the cheapest I could find at the store. Lucky for me because the cheapest was also the pinkest. So now we have a pink water boiler thing, and I can make tea again, because fall is the season for hot beverages. So there.

-

I thought I should just blog even of there is not really that much interesting stuff happening at the moment and I have lost my crafting bug. So I will just show some a picture a day with a line or two.

Snow keeps falling and blanketing me

Bunny had a little tummy ache yesterday and refused to eat. I stayed up with her all night and made sure she moved about and ate. And what could be better than her eating pellets out of her little ball. She gets exercise, fun and food all at once. She is now perfectly fine, but I could tell by her tiny poops that she had not been fine.

So I am struggling with my hours and slept all day yesterday and have been awake all night, fortunately I have lots of caffein so hopefully I can stay awake all day today. I have to keep busy because we have some housecleaning to do.

While I was playing night-time nurse I made some more squares.
And now joined together (not on the picture though, there is only 105). I have a whopping 110, only ten more to go! And then the border, yes, but almost done.

Look it doesn't fit the chair anymore….

I had to do a picture on the kitchen floor. I love that it looks like there is not much of a plan in the arranging of the squares, when actually after the first 20 squares I tried to plan things perfectly.

But when the weather keeps looking like this, snowing and cold I have a valid reason to stay inside and finish my blanket right? And watch Buffy, I am into season 6 and just saw the musical episode, very funny:)

Friday is in the air

Happy Friday. I am drinking something hot and eating candy from my birthday presents from a friend. Also my cousin gave me the lovely cake stand where my granny squares are currently residing.
My blanket is nearing its end, I can see the light in the end of the tunnel. I have 18 squares left to crochet and seven to attach on one side and the other 15 on the other.

I will do the  Ravellenic Games this year, and will participate in the Wip Dancing and I will finish this blanket!
I will take another picture tomorrow when there is some light and show you how big the blanket has gotten. Now I will go back to my tea, candy and Buffy, a good combo.
Bunny is hiding under the sofa hoping for more treats.

Miscalculated in Pink

So I have decided to make my blanket 120 squares, I have not decided in what fashion these new squares shall be linked, (well, I have decided on the join as you go method for joining, but that is not what I am talking about here. ) how long should it be or how wide. My blanket used to be 10x6 in my head, but now that I will increase the number I am thinking more like 15x8. But we will see. As of now there are 16 squares not fastened but finished, 60 are fastened and finished and so if my calculations are correct (which they certainly are not I reckon because math and me are arch enemies) there would be 44 squares left to make…. So we will see how far I get before I get too bored.
I am seeing numbers before my eyes now, not a very good sign, I am not very confident in my math so I hope boyfriend wakes up soon so that he can look it over. Yes, I am really that hopeless in math.

But I will finish this blanket this year even if it kills me.

 Before:

After:

It looks a bit more like a proper blanket, on top of my old granny square blanket. (Which is bigger than it looks in this picture because it is draped behind the chair.)

I am still enjoying this project, I usually stop a project when it is not fun anymore and I sincerely hope I will love this until I am done with it.

Your bright smile is like the sunshine

This is how far I have gotten on my pink granny square blanket. 40 squares done and 20 more to add, I am thinking it will turn out too small and I will regret not making it full size. That means I have to almost double the squares and make a border, so off to buy more of the white yarn tomorrow. I added some of the pink glitter yarn too. Luckily I still have some of the pink and purple left so there is not that much to buy and since the blanket is half assembled it will not look too bad with different colours on different places so it will hopefully not be too obvious that it was meant to be smaller.
This blanket will look so nice and cozy and in the end I am sure I would feel happy I did not rush it to get finished.

I have done some cross-stitching too, for a swap, so in a couple of weeks I can show it off.

I now it is not TECHNICALLY Tuesday tunes anymore,  but I forgot about this song, when we saw the preview I loved it and vowed to show it for my nest Tuesday Tunes, but well, life got in the way and when I accidentally saw it on youtube while making this post (I always listen to music I like when I type, I seem to make fewer mistakes that way and my sentences for some reason turns out much more coherent. )
Anyway I love the song, and the lyrics are so uplifting, the dance and video is cool also. But I am
 fan-girling here.

These past weeks I have been watching Buffy the Vampire slayer, and in general being nocturnal.

The study in pink square...

blankets….

So this is how far I have gotten on one of my blankets. I bought lots of yarn to finish this one, and I had my mother buy yarn for the other one from the same place where I bought the last yarn so it matched.
So here is a picture with the yarn I bought (not the yarn my mother bought, because that I don't have it yet).
I bought some more of the sparkly yarn I used in making those pretty star/snowflakes too, so that I can make a hundred more! (I counted 15 stars in one skein).
And the pink, purple and white is for the small granny blanket. I have already used up one of the whites which is why there is only one and a half of white in the picture. There will be two rows of white, and the last row is where I am using the "joining as you go" method by Lucy from the attic. And then some rows around in the pink, pale purple. I think it will look nice, but now that I have done two rows of white, I am contemplating if there should have been more than two, but that can't be helped now since I have sewn in the ends and one row is already finished. It will turn into a small lap blanket I guess. Or I can make some more squares…. I can always buy more yarn;)

New Projects

New project, well newish. It has been going slow, but I am up to 44 squares. All in pink/purple with a little white for emphasis.

Not yet decided on how to arrange them, but as you can see, it will eventually be a blanket. All in pink. Oh, how I am loving this blanket. More an more for each square. And as you can see my granny squares are a lot alike. Some colour combinations have been used six times! No to make it look random but still consistent.... I will have to make several tries. But I still think the numbers of squares have to be doubled. What do you think? It measures approximately 40x60 cm I am guessing.....

It might turn out as a future baby-blanket for my kid or if I can make enough squares a blanket just for me. Haha. I have a button on the first. I tend to get fed up easily. Which is why it has been on hiatus for six months.... Found it when my other baby alpaca blanket was almost done. Then that blanket was hurriedly done so that I could focus on this blanket. Me a fickle? No? ;)

And this is the most wonderful yarn ever, Viking Alpaca super something.
I love it. Just one and a half square and it is done. I was doing Lucy's joining as you go, but I failed... Better luck next time, nee?

And btw, boys can use pink too. Pink/Red was a boy colour before you know, and blue were for girls.

Currently, this is all I can show for.

I made this and since it is for myself I can show you the picture too. It is a Christmas decoration. ^^ I just need to decide what colour to use to hang it from. It was supposed to have french loops for the stars eyes, but I skipped them altogether. Never did get the hang of those frenchies.
