Easter and such

These past few days we have been busy cleaning and tidying the house, it is amazing how much clutter can accumulate in such a short while, but we were not too busy to bake a cake. (from a bag though) But it was delicious.

I still have March books to write about, but we will do those when we come back from our trip. My heart is all aflutter and I am not too sure I will get to sleep at all. Mister M and I have been playing a lot of board games this Easter. I am not a sore loser at all... Although Mister M might not agree. The Easter bunny gave us quite a haul this year, I even got teeny tiny yarn, candy, and some hand lotion. I am sure my bunnies had something to do with that after all they must know the easter bunny?

Someone wants to go too! 

Mister M and I are going on a trip as I said, to see a concert, but our trusty bunny sitter will be here and hopefully give lots of attention and treats to my trolls, Mimle might not think she will get enough treats, but then again she always thinks that...

Also, my knitting adventure continues, I made a baby bib from some leftover yarn from the yarn I used to make the baby blanket baby shower gift, I found the pattern on Vibbedille's blog, (norwegian only) and I gave it a go. It was not too hard, but I still struggled a little since I am new to the whole understanding a pattern in knitting thing....

Happy Easter

I made a egg-cozy bunny for Mister M, he loved it. The bunny light things were a gift and I love them, you can never have too many rabbit things in my opinion.

Back with some more yarn and some temptations

So the trip to Finland was a great success, I didn't use hardly any of my yarn that I brought but that was because we deemed the wedding blanket did not need an extra border, that was all the grey yarn I brought. I did however make a small doily while waiting for our flight that got cancelled, we popped it in with the presents. So all in all the yarn was a bit much but you never know what you might want to make...

(and I did use everything else of crafting things but my water colours, I adore making travel diaries which is why I bring so many crafting things.)

The doily fits well with the coasters too.

The wedding blanket awaiting ironing and packing for the wedding. The ironing of the blanket was a three person job btw as it was big and bulky and heavy and we only had a tiny ironing board.

I went to the biggest yarn shop in the city but they claimed to not have any Finnish yarn, so I bought some Swedish, Danish and Norwegian yarn. The grey yarn only has writings in Finnish though so I have hopes that they are from Finland. The greys are for a bolero or shawl or something I think and the whites and silver are for more snowflakes, I love snowflakes.

But the blanket weighed 3,3 kilos so I am allowed to buy some more yarn right?

They had these cool packages of surprise yarn too that I bought, and I got one sock, yarn to finish the other, a whole finished cowl in sparkly yarn form Sweden and some pink yarn, one is in wool and silk and the other is a bit of a mystery but I am thinking of mitts or something accessory crocheting.

Since my big thing is finished I have some hopes in making and finishing some smaller things, here I am making an iPad cover that my mother requested in wool, and since crafters minds are already on their next project I am thinking of another blanket (oh yes, I never learn, my shoulders are still not back in form) and a few shawls.

This is the afghan I hope I am not crazy enough to start because it needs cat coloured yarn and I only have a few skeins of wool from Nille so I would need a ton more.... I am trying to stay strong!

Hoppity hello

Better late than never?

I told you I was going to make something easter-y and finally I found a pattern I really liked. I made eight little bunnies from here, and am going to put them on a string so that I can hang then up later.

Inquisitive bunnies

Bunnies love jumping up on the sofa and cause mischief, or beg, one out of the two. Here they are begging for a treat and who could resist those little faces?

My friends and I went to a museum the other day too and saw this exhibition,  The needle's eye  contemporary embroidery. Some embroideries were from the 16th century and some were new. My favourite piece was one that was made in a old fashion sampler style with an alphabet, name and date when someone died and a funny little poem about how he died, I felt inspired to make my own, but I think that idea will have to wait a while...  

We also went shopping for yarn and ate some crepes.

My bunting is done, it only needs blocking. Btw, I found the pattern here, I modified it a little bit by making double ends so that I could use them to tie the bunting up with. If it doesn't rain tomorrow I will show you a picture.
