W is for Wips or Wisps

If we follow my UFO reasoning I don't have many UFOs but I would have a ton of Wips and Wisps...

A Wip is a work in progress and a Wisp is a work in slow progress (which is why I think a UFO is something you have given up on rather than just something that isn't finished yet)

So would you like to see my ton of Wips and Wisps? Here are my crochet Wips and Wisps, a skirt, one afghan, three baby blankets and one lapghan. Maybelle squares that might turn into a blanket, a shawl that I am unsure if I still have the pattern for, one finished and one started mitt, and a scarf/shawl depending on how much yarn I have. All in all, not that many projects on the go, and I have finished some of my longer Wisps lately, like the baby bunny blanket. I have another wip though  that I didn't take a photo of which is Mister M's vest.

Not too many projects right? Some that are easily portable, some that require brainpower and some that is just a breeze to crochet, I usually do these when I have company over or when M and I watch TV.

So 11 wips and wisps, but I am not quite sure where it turns into a wisp, I think that the colourful lapghan might be my only real wisps as all the others have had a stitch or two added this year....

Then there are the cross stitch things I have found so far, there may be a couple of others....

Some small cards, some bigger things, mostly bunnies and some are presents that I want to finish. Frederick is on black aida so I have given up doing him when it is too dark, but here in this apartment I have lots of light so it might be time to take him forward in the pile, just need to finish some of those smaller ones first I think.

16 cross stitches, and I know I have five more starts somewhere in the office.....

I think only two of these have gotten any stitches this  year so they are all wisps.... I will need to finish two before I can start something new, that is the policy and we will see how well it works over the next few weeks. Please cheer me on.

Regarding knitting, I only have three starts, one blanket, one sitting pad and one jacket so I didn't take any out to take pictures of today. I wonder which of those will be finished first... I have promised hats and socks and perhaps mittens for Christmast this year so those might be bumped up their queue...

Do you have more wips than me or do you feel appalled by my startisis and lack of stamina to see things through? I have seen some who actually have more starts than me, thankfully, I sometimes feel like I am a lost case.

As it is Sunday and WiSP time I thought it was appropriate to show you my WiSP-pile. I am trying to finish my "not so secret project number 3" today so I will not participate in WiSP Sunday, but I am here in spirit.

Now, I do have a rather large WiSP list, but I swear I have a good reason for not finishing most of them, and even if I have not stitched on some of them for a year, I refuse to label them as UFOs, they will be finished one day! After all that is why I invented WiSP Sunday!

No idea why I haven't finished this.

This is waiting for snow and the season spirit I think.

This one is stamped and so takes a while to do as it is so boring, but I know it will look nice finished.

I am guessing this was in a bag or other for a while not getting done. I don't have that much doctors appointments to stitch in the waiting rooms waiting anymore I guess.

I started this a year ago. Boris Hare from the woodland series, miscounted and let him be, I think I need to find my mistake and finish him.

I am almost ashamed to show you this, but, this is my stitch with the fewest stitches, now why have I not done anymore on this? I can't have miscounted already? It would take one minute to rip it out and start again? I can't even tell which side is up with only six stitches.... I am actually looking forward to finish this.

I think this ornament is closest to finished, maybe I will stitch a bit on him every ornament onsdag?

I started this three times, and had to rip it out three times. I am hoping this is a good start, but I am too scared to check and too angry with wasting all that time.

This is my fall project, I only work on it in the fall.

Poor little Eeyore, I promise, I will find my mistake and finish this, someday. There is not that much left?

 A Jane Austen sampler, the whole left side is wrong. And it is discontinued and I think I might not have enough threads, I am too scared to check. So I am pretending it does not exist until I feel brave enough to check.

I know this too is almost done. But working on stamped aida is sooo boring. And I have only one block left of colour too. Maybe I can do like one strand every WiSP sunday and I can give it away this Christmas instead?

Poor little Peter Rabbit has been miscounted and mislaid and now I do not feel that much love towards him, but someday I will finish.

Somebunny to love, I still love her, it is that stupid rocking horse that I do not love. It just won't behave and I keep having to frog it. I need boyfriends help to find my mistake and then I will very carefully start again.

My mother gave me this kit, and I love it, I usually work on it in the winter, as it is so warm and heavy on the knees. It really is delightful, but I am scared of making a mistake on it as it looks so nice and expensive, some day when finished I will give it to my mum.

My spring project. This spring would have been my second spring on it had I found the floss. Where they are is a mystery because the whole lot was lying in a box for a year just waiting and I know I did not take out any threads from that box. Now, where can they be? The beads are equally mysterious still in the box.

This is my only stitch along, me and my cousins wife bought one each on sale, but after I moved I see her less, so only one corner remains finished. At this rate I will finish one corner a year.

My friends scold me for not persevering and finishing, I am usually not that fickle of nature, but I just love the feeling of new starts and hate counting, I don't particularly like being wrong either and need some cooling off before taking it out again.

Even if I have a rather large Wip and WiSP pile, I know of other people with even larger. So there.

Party all night long Friday

It is really beginning to spring here. This week I saw the first little wildflower by the road. Other excitement followed where boyfriend and I was almost killed by a falling piece of lumber. The working people had failed to put up signs that they were working. And suddenly while we were minding our own business and walking we heard some frantic whistling and yelling, and boyfriend dragged me by the side. Apparently a little while later he heard a bang where the falling lumber had fallen. I was still busy thinking about all that wood for the bunny to chew....

Boyfriend and I have been playing a lot of Rayman lately for the playstation, so it has been cutting into my stitching time. But I have done some more black on Frederick. Hard to see black on black, but I promise I've done alot.

Secret WiSP 2. A small preview. If anyone recognizes this piece please keep it to yourself until may;) But I just had to show all the sparkling shiny threads. I am a sucker for sparkly things.

I have cheated a bit to start on Henry's head. I felt he would become a bit less scary with a head, but I think I might be mistaken. He looks very ghostlike. And he wasn't even beheaded!

Freebie Friday! A kokeshi. I love Kokeshi's.  And for some reason, they felt springy so I wanted to do one in green. I probably should have made a kappa to boot, since we are in the green japanese corner. But maybe next time. If anyone asks for one;)

And bunny got a branch of her own to chew. She wanted to sit in her cage whilst chewing so. I complied. :) I love my bunny! Even if she chews on my furniture.

Framing myself

Here is what I have been doing the past few days, and, I have actually awoken by myself each morning really early. (which never happens) Between 5 30 and 8. Bunny is thrilled, because she loves cuddles in the morning on the sofa with a little jogging on the rug in-between.

 I did some interior decorating of bunny's toys, needless to say, she was not impressed.

 I framed the "all I want for christmas..." piece. Now I can pack it up for next season.

Here is how far I got on my Sunday WISP. I am loving this idea.

All day I sat stitching with some kinder-egg chocolate and Charmed on the TV.

I framed my Gorjuss piece. Another frame from flea-market this fall, I wanted to go with a light woodcoloured frame from IKEA, but they have stopped making them (I used one here, the Peter one). So I went home and looked through my stash, and found this pretty little frame, which needless to say, I love!

WISP SUNDAY

Today I want to share with you a tip. Most of you may already do this, but Istad is half price to the ones I found at the supermarket and bigger too.

 Now, I realized that in the moving process some of my charts or bits of floss got lost, so I have bought lots of plastic bags from IKEA ( who is my friend) I bought the big ones (15x6L and 15x4,5L) and they fit most projects just fine. I have now promptly sealed away all my wips and put them in a box next to the sofa for next WISP Sunday.

And being see through you know what is inside without opening them, and because they are re-sealable (is that a word?) dirt cannot penetrate it. Istad:

This is Henry all tucked away waiting for WISP Sunday to be over so that he can be sewn on again.

And here is gorjuss bunny, safely packed away until I find the right frame and can frame her, and somebunny who is waiting for me not to be mad at her and finding my mistake so that we can continue our relationship.

Whilst at IKEA I also bought this frame and framed minnie and mickey for my boyfriend.

 I started something new, but I have not been naughty I promise, because 1: It is part of my WISP collection and today is WISP sunday. 2: And I have a finish. I bought this kit ages ago, and had only just opened it, so I decided to start it properly. I wonder if this is one I will keep for myself or not....

This, is definitely for me, could you tell that it was for me? It has a bunny so it must be for me:

A bit later I will continue on a secret WISP, which I will give to one of my friends next christmas. I said it, so I have to keep to it now. 

Bunny has been sleeping inside her box all day with small interior-decorating breaks so I have been unable to paparazzi a picture.

The last couple of days I have been feeling a bit ill, so Henry has had a vacation. But I did find an old WIP. And have started it again. And besides a little weirdness in the dress I have no idea why she was put aside. ( I am guessing it was because she is for me and maybe I had to make something for someone else and she was just forgotten in the mix)

So far I have finished the face and feet and now I am on the background and then I have the backstitch left. I will finish this before I start on Henry again. The place I found this also held a lot of WISP's, so I have another goal. One day a week will be WISP day. SO there.

I am very ashamed but, here you go from waay back.

I slept all day yesterday and awoke around five in the morning hungry, so I gave in and made something to eat. Bunny was trilled I was awake and sat on the sofa chirping her teeth at me ( the equivalent of purring). It was indeed a gorjuss moment.
