Ornament Onsdag Poinsettia

I made another little Permin Christmas decoration. I think someone will get it for Christmas, but I am not quite sure yet... I love it, I think I need to get the Dompapp one and this one for me too.

I have bought the santa and bunny one, because I could not walk past it, and I figured it was time I made some decorations for myself too, so I am busy making that as well.

Other than that, I found the gift that was missing. And I finished the scarf I was crocheting, and making up as I went, I am very pleased with that one. Even if it took me three weeks to finish. Crochet takes time, but the yarn was cheap, so I think it will be a great and thoughtful gift. :)

So I am making another scarf, with a little under a month for Christmas I can just about make it;)

Will I finish all 25 gifts in time?

I was barely in time with ornament onsdag, so now I am off to bed, no more Bones for me. You see Netflix just released season eight, and I am trying to convince myself that I do not need to watch the whole season within a short amount of time....

Tomorrow I think I will have a finish, and soon I will show you my friend's birthday present, if I can finish it that is. ;) I have to whip out my sewing machine to make the inside of the bag and the pocket. It is Totoro! 

And I have started my Christmas decorations. This was a freebie from World of Cross Stitch Magazine, three little Margaret Sherry mice. I am going to make them all, twice. Once as pillows, and once as cards, because they are fast, cute, easy and adorable!

First Advent Ornament

Today I had my mother over for a belated birthday get-together, unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of her present that I made, but I will next time I see her, she really loved her presents and that made me happy.

I was thinking about waiting to show you some ornaments until ornament Onsdag, but then I realized that most of the things I made lately were ornamented gifts, so here is a cat for someone who is a cat person. ^^

And then there is an advent present for my boyfriend. He and his sister used to have a bird each that they hung on the tree but they are looking a bit battered nowadays so I made boyfriend one that would not brake if it fell off the tree;)

And what post would be complete without a bunny pic? Bunny is tired. she has an advent calendar too, but she gets presents everyday. Now who wouldn't get tired of opening gifts everyday?

A hole in the Hol and a workshop

My friend joined me and we drank some Christmas Fizz and then we made a cat each. I have the grey one and she the white. I think they turned out lovely once we found the strength to abandon the instructions, because face it, they were making us more confused.

Now to decide who gets my lovely cat…. I have already started another, as there were 13 in the kit.

Then later the same day bunny helped boyfriend to assemble a Hol from IKEA. And I have no idea how she knew, but she acted like it belonged to her before we even put her stash in. She now has a small house were we are giving out hay. Hopefully she will keep the hay inside the box and not drag it everywhere. Because as you all know hay must be eaten either straight from the bag or from the floor, but if it stays on the floor for too long, it turns inedible soon. But somehow after weeks of being on the floor behind something it turns edible again if there is enough dust in it…. Bunnies.

And here she is hopping out of her table house. Boyfriend's father made the hole for us.

Moar Cards and a tomte

You know, I was looking at my to-do-list yesterday, and I have started the gifts for most of the people on it. And some are even finished! 

I made another coaster:

I like this one, on sparkly aida. I have really enjoyed making these coaster and I can see myself making more of them. I get to use up stash, I find the charts from my magazines, and all I have to buy is the coaster itself, and it is super cheap. It goes fast and there is no making up afterwards, just jam it in and close. My kind of project. And tadah, finished.

Here is another stitched card, There is only one left of the stitched variety and about eight non-stitchy cards, I think I will be able to send them out next week. Last year my mum bought the stamps and we signed all the cards together and sent. Maybe she wants to do that this year too? It is nice to send home made cards and I like sending them with my mum because we have been doing that forever. Plus it is never stupid to share the cost of the stamps;) Most people still think of my mother and me as a set anyway so a card from us and my boyfriend together might not be a dumb idea. I think I will ask them and see what they think. :)

Look at the poinsietta Bouffle is holding, that really is the most Christmasy flower I know of. I am thinking about buying one in plastic though because it is very toxic to bunnies and my bunny can get to anything she puts her mind to. To be honest I am fairly certain she can make people do whatever she wants by telepathy. The other day I found myself giving her a small banana bite even though I was adamant she would not get any as she had already gotten apple from boyfriend when suddenly I heard her nommin away on the banana…. Wonder how that happened.  

 So more cards. I like making simple cards, the lovely green aida is from a Bothy threads kit I did years ago and still had in my stash. There was not that much left, but I still keep the little pieces just for instances like this. I usually use fray-stop- glue on them immediately after cutting them and keeping them in my stash, because I hate for them to fray into something unusable just by being in the stash.

  God Jul means merry Christmas in Norwegian. I have used a Permin letter font from their God Jul heart ornament stitch that I bought the other day.

And I have also updated my bunny ornament stash!

This little darling was a shop display, but since she was broken I got her cheap. They are selling off the rest of their ornaments on the 22nd. I have my eyes set on one of them. Bunnies prefer bunny partners after all.

And, I have my first proper bunny christmas ornament. I see bunny ornaments on blogs all the time, but the only ornaments made for adults come during easter, and since Christmas is my holiday I want tons of bunny Christmas ornaments. Look at the little fellow, he looks like a proper "fjøsnisse".

If this keeps up, I think I'll make it in time for christmas

I am back for a brief show off session.

Because I have a total of three finishes (although not the ornament sewing up part).

Three finishes in a week is not normal for me and if I can keep this up, I will be done in time for Christmas, even if that is always my goal, I fail..... 

 I have made another Christmas-Card, so the total is now 3/8 (I think)

And then I made a heart for someone special this Christmas:) 

I kind of screwed up a little with the sewing up part, and the next two I make I think will have felt backsides..... And ribbons.

This is another little ornament for a special little person, he will get this sewed up as a little sock and I will put some money in it for a Christmas present. I really love the sheep.

It is fall now too, and look at this pretty little leaf I found on my way to the store today. I am not really that into orangy-colours, but there is something about the season which gets me into the spirit. The Autumn spirit and not the other kind.... :)

Oh, and because I know you like it, here is a picture of bunny and a very boring toy that was only interesting the short amount of time that pellets came out of it, now that there is only hay, no interest.

Last Christmas

The last Christmas-ornament. Made from "World of cross-stitching" number 183, with slight alterations. 

This is the last needlekeep I made, for my cousins wife.

I really enjoyed making them, and by the time I had gotten to the last one I felt that I had really gotten good at it;)

This week we've been woken by the bunny really early, clearly she has not heard of christmas holidays... Other than that it has been snowing all week. And tomorrow I am going to show you some of the stitching stash I got this year:) I'll give you a hint, it is something someone like me who always looses her needle has been in want of for ages, shaped like a bunny ofcourse.
And I will show you my secret skill. ;)

Two small finishes

I have a little person I know who owns a horse, so when this little thing was on half price sale I jumped right on it. I even bought a bigger version of the whole horse. I do like her, even though I am not a horse person....:P

Frame is from IKEA.

And I did NOT go berserk in our local yarn store. I only bought four cross-stitch kits. And all on half price sale, so there. ;)

This was a present from my mother for Christmas. And it is already done:) And it got to hang a day before I am going to take away all the Christmas decorations.

But there was too little of the green thread.

Tiny Treasured Diamond Star Angel

Actually I started this weeks ago ( might actually be a month ago even), but I made a mistake and had to put it away for a while.

You know me, when I make a mistake I get so angry I want to destroy everything, and need to start something different until my anger has subsided...

When I felt like giving it another try. (actually when I realized I had too many wips and not enough tadahs) It only took me a couple of hours and then it was done, it was so much fun that I bought two more from sewandso. (No, I will not learn from my mistakes, and keep overreaching) :)

After I got the hang of it, it was so much fun and I really loved it, I think that the beads really make it shine. And I have so many left over.... ^^ Thank you Mill Hill.

My ornament is a little bit bigger than the chart says it should be, so my fringes are a bit smaller, can you see them? Under the ornament, dangling away?

With or without bow

Yay. My Christmas-letter-hanger-thingy is done! I was arguing with the sewing machine all last night, which resulted in this. As you can see, there is but a little fiddling left, that I have to handsew, and that is the red fabric onto the hanger. But it looks really cute.

What do you guys think, with or without the bow?

Kings and Queens, do they make their own presents?

I made another ornament card. I stitched a message on the back on green aida. This way, it is easy to know when it was made and by who. My mother constantly tells me that is very important. I don't think it should be that important to her, because I am the only one who makes things for her, and my style is kind of easy to spot;) But I do humor her.

This is how far I have gotten on the cat. Only backstitching left. And this time I swear, I will not start another new thing until the backstitching on this is done! And no, it is not made for a girl named Thi, even though I know a Thi. ;) It is just the backstitching that is not finished:p

I have finished the "The red Queen" By Philippa Gregory, and I really do find that era in English history fascinating. So fascinating that I must make the english royals one day.

This one. It is written in my wish-list.

Now, I am happy that I am only making about 25 gifts this year, and thirteen cards, what if I was a queen, I would have made thousands. And in those days I think most of their spare time was used sewing. I don't think I would ever get the presents done;)

Currently, this is all I can show for.

I made this and since it is for myself I can show you the picture too. It is a Christmas decoration. ^^ I just need to decide what colour to use to hang it from. It was supposed to have french loops for the stars eyes, but I skipped them altogether. Never did get the hang of those frenchies.
