A Happy Hooker Hooked on Yarn

Remember I started a new cardigan and dress? Then I ran out of yarn on both?! Luckily my LYS had the dark pink for the cardigan but I needed to get into town to buy more of the light pink and so I asked Mister M nicely if he wanted a happy wife and he did. He was going to town anyway to go to the movies.

It was a bold move because Mister M is not the best with colours, but I gave him the dress for comparison and he came back with the right colour. He was lucky though because for some reason there was only one shade of pink in the shop, last time there was four different pinks so he didn't really have any other colours to choose from.
And I was very lucky since he came home with six balls of yarn and I didn't need that much yarn so now I can make another dress and perhaps a baby blanket although I might need more yarn if I start a blanket;)

I gingerly continued on both the dress and cardigan with a goal to finish within the weekend, but with a girls night out, book reading and housework I didn't finish. But I did have a lot of fun on Saturday with friends and reading on Sunday with Mister M in the rain, and we actually managed to take a small walk between showers....
(I haven't finished all the June books yet, I am on the last one so that post will have to wait, and there is no Bunday post since it was all thunder and lightning yesterday so we didn't watch TV or sit on the computer all day, sorry E2 who I know loves bunday posts)

but I finished the dress tonight, and a small baby bonnet by Marumin Crochet.

The colour in this picture is off. I made chains to make the thread at the bottom to use up this scrap of yarn, but I still have a tiny bit left, so I may have to make another bonnet. I used a 4 hook, but I think a 3 would have been better, so I had to stop sooner than the pattern said.
I used Søstrene Grenes bomuldsgarn in cotton. Almost three balls for the dress and bonnet I think, will weigh them later. Next time I want to make the shoulder part open and add buttons for closing so that it will be easier to put on and take off. And I am not too sure about the trebles (US), I think it would look nicer in dc's... I used dc in the scallops both on the shoulder trim and bottom of the dress. I love the pattern though and hope to find someone who can wear it. But it would be a nice baby gift so maybe I will just put it in the box.

And I am on the last arm on my cardigan so that might be finished soon too. You might be getting sick of all this baby stuff, but I am crocheting other things too, honest, just that those things are Christmas presents so I can't show them off yet... ;)

So toodeloo from a happy hooker who might be a little yarnoholic.
Bunnies are happy too and say hello, they are still molting.

The dress weighs 89 grams and the bonnet 29 grams. So it was after all good that Mister M came home with six balls of yarn and not just two as requested.

I will calculate my in and out yarn input sometime later this week, so stay tuned, have I managed to use up any yarn? Or is my running out of yarn and having to buy more ruining everything?

Uki uki Rabu

Today we have had a little sleepy day here in the burrow. Rabbits L O V E their bed, but it seems that some bun somehow always end up with a little bum out of the bed so we are contemplating buying a second so that both fit perfectly.

Mimle was flopping in the bed when Valmin decided to join her and there was no room for two flopping bunnies so they had to be loafing bunnies instead. I love it when they smush their heads together like that. True love.

The box is almost finished! I adore the colour and I know I said that I was feeling like I was done with all the painting, but I still find myself searching for more items to paint in this colour... Like the frame over my dollhouse or the plate rack from my dad because this colour makes my heart go all fluttery and uki uki doki doki, and it does go with our purple wall too.
And small things don't take up so much space while they get remodelled anyway so it won't clutter that much.

And I am making some more bunting, all from scraps. This palette does look rather easter/spring-y don't you think?

Running on the deck

Valmin is the adventurous type and will typically be everywhere. Mimle is the slow type and will test the water for ages before slowly making her way in. Just like grandma. So when I open the door to the deck one little man is running around like crazy getting into mischief while one little lady will sit in the doorframe contemplating.

But then one day I did not give her any raspberry leaves in the doorway. She jumped out and ate lots before Valmin noticed and came to eat with her. Mimle is so food driven it is funny.

When the bush was eaten up she binkied inside again. Happy that she had eaten the most.

Weird little bunnies.

Pa-pa-pa-pa-pa-paparazzi

M: -Oh, no, they spotted us, let's pretend we didn't see them.

M: - Those stupid paparazzi's and their flashes. Taking pictures of someone relaxing in their bed with their special someone. It is appalling.

M: - Let's give them a good shoot, maybe they will leave us alone.
V: - ZZZ

(And for some reason I am singing paparazzi like Berryz Koubou's song "Asian Celebration" instead of the more famous paparazzi song that should first come to ones mind?)

Happy Valentines day chart

Or just a generic love one.

Another early morning without internet made me feel a little desperate and after an hour playing CIV on the computer I decided to do something a bit more sensible. So I made a chart. I am hoping to do some more in the Valentines spirit in time for the big day. This is a good piece to use up all those scraps   of floss and you can pick your favorite part and just stitch some words into a card.

I haven't made any charts in a while so I may be a little rusty though.

This is how it will look.

And here are my selection of floss and chart.

Again, you can use my chart and make all the cross stitches you want, but please do not sell the chart or your finished piece.

Bunny news

I was scolded. My friend said that after I had pledged to blog more I blogged even less, I told her that my followers would probably understand since bunny was ill and that I would be back shortly better than ever.

I was asked to tell the tale of how bunny was feeling now too, so here is a tail (hehe, gettit?) with lots of pictures:)
=
She went through two surgeries in three days. Back home after surgery number one here. That evening we had to call the emergency vet to give her more pain relief.
She kept biting on her stitches so we put her in my expensive wool leggings.

Bunny-jail. In the mandatory bunny-jail uniform. Fortunately the uniform was off after a few days. :)

In the dark weeks that was I was so sure she would not make it that I bought lots of kleenex. Took pictures everyday that I just sat and looked at trying not to cry in the twilight hours bunny watching. But now that she is much better I feel that I will not jinx it. (knock on wood).

Here we are visiting bunny at the vet. She was very happy and gave us some tooth-purring:) I have no idea why she kept lying in the corner like that but I can assure you she was happy.

Then back home after two nights at the home of two of the veterinarians. Very happy with their service actually. And bunny parents got two nights of good sleep, which it turned out, we needed badly.
For over a week I have been on bunny night watch and boyfriend on bunny day watch. Feeding her and generally freaking out. Luckily that boyfriend is doing his masters and I am jobless at the moment then...

Here we are giving critical care to a less than pleased bunny.

She actually jumped up into my lap because she did NOT want more food. After looking into her mouth it seams she has some sore gums after the syringe feeding so no wonder she was so stubborn about it, but it was necessary because she did not eat enough grass, which we are thinking might be the reason she is going rampant on our wood furniture at the moment.

Digging and biting on mummy, hence the fleece blanket between us. But I did not take a hint and gave her more cc. Stupid bunny-mommy.

Look, someone is using her litterbox!
(old picture actually, but I did not want to take pictures of her using it now in case I scared her off)

So. Apparently our bunny was feeling a bit depressed so the vet and we agreed that it would be better with a happy free roam rabbit with the occasional pee on the carpet, than a depressed one who peed in her cage and slept in it.

Within minutes of being let out of her cage her mood changed to a happier one. We even saw a half binky. So far she has only peed in her cardboardboxes and once on her matress. Which was not her fault. She was sleeping and suddenly she sat up, moved a bit. I rushed over and popped her into her toilet, but to no avail, she was done. My theory is bunny was sleeping and awoken by the need but she did not have time to reach her litter box and just sat unhappy doing her business. The vet said that since she had bladder surgery her bladder is now smaller and need to be emptied sooner so she just have to adjust.... I am sure she will manage. At least she is happy even if she stinks.
( I have bathed her she still stinks, sorry no pictures of that, we girls bathed by our selfs. No boy photographers allowed.)

Look how happy and inquisitive she is now that she can run around the house? Suddenly every piece of wood in the house is hers and need to be bitten....

Bunny is sockbunny

Mimle is sick. The vet suspected bladder-stones, but during surgery could not find them. So, new diagnosis is a cyst in the uterus tract. With another surgery tomorrow. Bunny was being bad and nipped at her stitches, we went to emergency vet and got more pain meds. They didn't have any harnesses things that fit her, so we used one of my clean leggings. Made off wool and super expensive now that I think about it. But atleast bunny is warm in wool and fleece blanket and heating bottle. She peed on me at the vets, yay, first pee since surgery. Three more gruelling hours into the night and the odd looking moist poops appeared.
But she has a sense of style.

Bunny is drinking by herself, but I am feeding her a little critical care at intervals. She is not pleased. Bunny mom is almost asleep, but I have to stay awake for four more hours....
But I do love you little bunny.

WISP SUNDAY

Today I want to share with you a tip. Most of you may already do this, but Istad is half price to the ones I found at the supermarket and bigger too.
Now, I realized that in the moving process some of my charts or bits of floss got lost, so I have bought lots of plastic bags from IKEA ( who is my friend) I bought the big ones (15x6L and 15x4,5L) and they fit most projects just fine. I have now promptly sealed away all my wips and put them in a box next to the sofa for next WISP Sunday.
And being see through you know what is inside without opening them, and because they are re-sealable (is that a word?) dirt cannot penetrate it. Istad:

This is Henry all tucked away waiting for WISP Sunday to be over so that he can be sewn on again.

And here is gorjuss bunny, safely packed away until I find the right frame and can frame her, and somebunny who is waiting for me not to be mad at her and finding my mistake so that we can continue our relationship.

Whilst at IKEA I also bought this frame and framed minnie and mickey for my boyfriend.

I started something new, but I have not been naughty I promise, because 1: It is part of my WISP collection and today is WISP sunday. 2: And I have a finish. I bought this kit ages ago, and had only just opened it, so I decided to start it properly. I wonder if this is one I will keep for myself or not....

This, is definitely for me, could you tell that it was for me? It has a bunny so it must be for me:

A bit later I will continue on a secret WISP, which I will give to one of my friends next christmas. I said it, so I have to keep to it now.

Bunny has been sleeping inside her box all day with small interior-decorating breaks so I have been unable to paparazzi a picture.
