Finished Friday

I have some finishes to show you and since it is finished Friday today what better than to show off what I have done these past few weeks?

I have found my stitching bug again, yay! And I started and finished this lovely little biscornu turned into a scissor-fob which I will put in my gift-pile.

Here is the back of the same biscornu and I finished the boy-bunny, I still have one more in this series and am contemplating wether to start it now or do it next Easter, I love having seasonal things to do in its season, but it would also be lovely to actually have a finish...
And then there is the daffodil in the middle which I started just over Easter, that too is finally finished after I frogged the middle yellow since it was stitched in the wrong place. You would think that I learned my lesson and properly look at the chart, well, I did the same with the darkest green, stitched all the darkest green and then realised it was wrong and had to frog that too. And when it was finally done, I had lost the frame.... I was mad, but as things want to do, it turned up, the same day my beautiful pink scissors and needles set from Tulip did. That was indeed a happy day.

And I finished another bib, the bigger pink one, made a heart on the blue bib and started a third bib, this time in pale pink, but it won't have scallops I think...
And the pink thing in the background of all the pictures is my granny stripe baby-blanket which is way over half way already, just one more skein I think!
So far I have finished One whole skein of pink, but started a second.
The pink for the blanket is already up to five balls I think, but since it is not finished I will not count it.

So, 70 grams out in baby-bibs and 200 grams of scarf
and
350 grams in these past two weeks.

So I am not doing too well on my two out one in yarn policy, but that might be because of all those half finished things, if I finish them properly I might have more success.
Hey, scratch that, I forgot I had the knitted scarf finish, I never made a proper post about it, but I did finish the blue/green scarf the other day, I will take a picture and show you later, so I think my policy is working better than I thought... Yay me.

Chugging Along

I picked up my scarf/shawl knitting and I am feeling like there is a finish soon on the steps, which means I can buy more yarn! I was going out today to meet a friend and shop some, but suddenly the doorbell rang and a couple who used to be my parents friends who were in the neighbourhood came by for a cup of cofee. I haven't seen them since my dad died, but I got a nice flower from them and it suddenly feels more like spring than winter....

So I had to put a new spring-like doily out, this one I bought at a flea market and I love it.

Also because I was bad and not following my own rules I have now crocheted a whole pattern repeat and am now on number two. I am hoping I have enough yarn for grey in the bottom, then purple, hot pink, purple and then grey again which I think will look awesome! We will see if there is a border in sight. I am hoping this won't take years to finish!

Monday mesh

Mum and I bought this flower last time we were at a thrift shop, since my hands are more pink than green we thought some fake flowers would liven the apartment a bit up. The pot was brown and clashed with everything we owned. So I crochet a cover in a sort of mesh like pattern and boyfriend agrees that it looks a lot more at home now.

The whole thing only took me a couple of hours and I used Safran from drops in a muted white tone. I am contemplating making a couple of crochet flowers because there is a flower missing from it. Maybe in white or a more light pink? We will see.

At the moment the dress is still going strong and my goal is to finish the skein of yarn by the end of the week.

Life in black and white

Another flower I received. It was lovely. There is a butterfly somewhere inside it too. From my aunt and uncle. It was very thoughtful. The funeral is done now. But there is still lots to do.....

This morning I have been taking old pictures out of a album that my father for some reason glued in. And since we are sharing them, they needed to be taken out of the album, and that is what I have been doing today, with a little bit of stitching. I finally feel ready to tackle Henry again too, I've missed him.... Want to see some? I found a surprising amount of old pictures with animals in them. I think I found four pictures with dogs in them. I am pretty sure this first picture is of my dad... (Or perhaps a lookalike.)
I will have a chat with my uncle about whois who in the pictures, and I think he is the only one who wants copies...
Another dog, or rather the same dog....
 Some sheep. Very interesting...
 A girl with her horse.
I think, maybe, my grandfather. Who I never met. Certainly looks like him.
And look, a happy couple and their cat.

I did not know the people in my fathers family were so fond of pets. Whenever I talked about my rabbits I got comments of how good rabbit stew tasted. (I did get my fair share of that from my mothers side as well though, but most of them only like animals from afar.)

Back to some stitching news right? Since that is what you lot is here for? But I have been doing what I was supposed to do, and Secret Project Number 2 is finished
and as soon as I have gifted it I will show you a picture^^ I hope she will like it.

My ornament all done. What do you guys think?

So, off to bed. There is so much left to do, that I can't do quite yet.
