Finished, and I did it yet again

Remember I told you I was set for the baby shower? I was, and I intended not to start anything else because there was four days left until the big day. And then I was myself, and I sort of started another baby blanket. But I did finish in time. Crocheting the last stitches before I went to bed and ironing it minutes before I had to leave...

I managed to make them all and a border in four days, my finger is still hurting.
So this week i have been only knitting.

The border is a simple sc row and then a dc row and lastly I made a scallop edge of three chains and two dc stitches in the same stitch, skip three stitches and repeat all the way around.

I was in such a rush that I forgot to take a picture before I gifted the blanket so blocking pictures will have to suffice.

Husband and bunnies helped me with the arrangements, in the end we decided on the five colours used the same in each row but not in the same place.

I bought a matching bag and gave the blanket with the dress and bonnet and the mother to be was happy. I hope the dress fits.

30x24 cm big and 304 grams of Drops Baby Merino.

I loved the pattern, and after I had made just one I knew the pattern by heart. It was a fast, but easy square to do and it looks very nice. I am contemplating making use of some stash alpaca yarn and make myself another blanket, in pinks and purples... I just have to make a practise square to see of it looks as good in alpaca as it does in wool...

Throwback Thursday and orange and blue

Valmin is still hoppy and happy although he looks a bit sleepy in this picture. He is such a goof, and I love how he always likes to smoosh his head into the rug, both when he is desperate to be groomed and when he is just chilling by himself. Mimle is up to mischief as always and begging for food all the time, one could think we were starving her, but we are not....

It is October and I am back with a crochet thing I started last year for Halloween but decided to only work on in October to help me get in the Halloween spirit. It was left at the first pumpkin and I have already done the second. The pattern is from red heart and is free from here.

And then for the throwback part, here is a baby-blanket after my brother but apparently I used it too, so it is well over thirty now, but look how gorgeous it is, my aunt crocheted it and I know my mother put it over our prams.

Sorry for the bad picture, the bunnies were "helping" me taking pictures and arranging the blanket so this was the best I could do.

I have finished one secret (not for long) baby bunny blanket and am on the second already from gachastitches which will be out soon. Yay! The pattern is taking a bit longer to write up than anticipated but since we both want the pattern to be good you will just have to wait for it.

The old baby blanket and the new baby blanket.

Friday Finishes and creative adventuring in a handy dress

After blogging every day for a month I suddenly had trouble thinking about what to say, so I didn't say anything. But now that I have a finish I thought I could talk about that.
My friend *Kio and I are very creative and usually when we spend some time together we start some crazy adventure together with more or less success. This week our adventure resulted in a spur of creativeness and we made a pattern. We are in the middle of making it up and finishing it and making a real pattern and maybe later we can show it to you. When we do it will be found over at our new adventure-land.

This is my finish, all 28 grams of yarn and I do say I like it. Do you? if you would like to make one stay tuned to this space.

In all this creative-ness I have gotten a bit further on some of my more long-term projects, I finished the purple and pink and started on the second purple on the baby bunny blanket. When this baby is done I am hoping that all that Novita Acrylics will be gone. I have found that although acrylics are soft and pretty they are not my preferred yarn so I doubt I will re-stock my acrylics stash anytime soon. But it is good to have another baby-gift ready in case anyone have a kid or two.

Mimle as usual is busy eating. Today we had craftsmen over who worked a little on our porch, they smiled at the buns whilst the buns were a bit shy and hid from the workers and their loud noices and fresh air.

This week we have been busy de-cluttering our house and Mister M's childhood things,  I have been swimming with *Kio and our muscles were not as sore as last time and I spent a day at the library picking out books for this month and sketching my pattern.
I also had this handy dress to put my yarn in whilst wandering over to talk to the librarian when there were no others there. I wasn't planning on wearing that dress, but when I tried it on I realised it was too small and couldn't take it off so I had to wear it the entire day. Oh well, another thing to donate later and more room for yarn;)

So very busy indeed, but a very fulfilling week, I hope you will continue with our adventure.

....but I will miss that pocket to stash my yarn in when crochet on the go...

Don't forget my giveaway on Sunday. The chances of you winning are quite high at the moment. All you have to do is to comment on that post. And on Monday I am going out shopping so something more might be added to each prize.

Easter and checking in

M and I had our six month anniversary last Saturday and spent the day shopping and later watching "Oh Brother, were art thou" on TV, I loved the movie BTW. And we ate cake, lots of cake, M surprised me with cake from our wedding from the freezer and I surprised him with cake I bought at the store. Haha. I got lots of yarn, 30 balls of wool which made me happy, and M got a note with the same amount on STEAM, so he can buy games which made him happy.

All the squares of my baby granny blanket is done and I am in the middle of crocheting them together which is quite tedious, but the edge is a carrot and I am edging towards it, edging is always so much fun!
Maybe I want to do the heart edge again only this time with the scallop edging I envisioned on the Wedding Blanket....

The Florida Shrug is over halfway through, and I am having fun with this, and easy project while watching TV. Only problem is that the whole thing is covered with tiny little black hairs. #Troubleswithblackbunnies

And since it is Easter I have pulled out my new shiny Easter mug M gave me and am happily hooking some small Easter critters, I made these last year too, but I am definitely making a garland this time!

I love the bunny pattern, but both are easy and fun and with the right colours make spring sing.
This yarn is acrylics from Nille, but I don't think they have the same colours anymore, which is too bad because even though I am not a fan of acrylics I am a huge fan of the colours here.

I made these a few years back, but have since misplaced them so I made a few more using some scraps of yarn and on one I added a little scallop edge. The adorable little chicks inside I bought at the store earlier but I would like to make them myself, too bad I am not that good at amigurumi...

I also picked up a small cross stitch kit from Permin that my mother found in her chest just before Christmas and gifted to me. My hand are hating sewing at the moment, but the pattern is oh, so cute and you know how I love making things that are seasonal so I just had to sew some. But alas, you see all that yellow I did? I used the wrong colour, the colour I mistook for light yellow was just plain yellow and the light yellow is actually white! So now I have to frog half my work, which I hate.
Oh well, that will teach me (probably not since this is not the first time I did this---) to not double check all the colours before starting a kit.

Chugging Along

I picked up my scarf/shawl knitting and I am feeling like there is a finish soon on the steps, which means I can buy more yarn! I was going out today to meet a friend and shop some, but suddenly the doorbell rang and a couple who used to be my parents friends who were in the neighbourhood came by for a cup of cofee. I haven't seen them since my dad died, but I got a nice flower from them and it suddenly feels more like spring than winter....

So I had to put a new spring-like doily out, this one I bought at a flea market and I love it.

Also because I was bad and not following my own rules I have now crocheted a whole pattern repeat and am now on number two. I am hoping I have enough yarn for grey in the bottom, then purple, hot pink, purple and then grey again which I think will look awesome! We will see if there is a border in sight. I am hoping this won't take years to finish!

Bunday and things

Today is fastelaven, we have a branch with feathers but I slept almost all day with a bad throat so no buns and cream, yet....

Still plodding along on my knit, here is my bought scarf under for size comparison, almost used up 100 grams of yarn already and then I have to learn the decrease. Hehe. Next time I think I will make my increase on every sixt row instead of fourth like now...

And I started some granny squares because I needed something fun and easy. After all granny squares are quite addicting. A baby blanket since I am making baby things this year!

No bunday without buns! Here they are eating rocket, they need separate bowls or Valmin will take his loot and hide from Mimle which always means she eats his lot too!
