Half past supper and a finish sort of Finnish and a start again

Well I did finish the bunny blanket yesterday! And I only had a little of the middle pink yarn left! Yay me!
(But there is still plenty hot pink left...)

So today I made a small border of single crochet all around and declared the blanket was finished!
The size is 103X63 cm so more than enough for either a baby or a lapghan.

I used this pattern and the yarn was a Finnish acrylic yarn I bought in Sweden about five years ago (so that is how long this poor blanket has been neglected) called Helen by Novita.
(why I only find Finnish yarn in Sweden and Swedish yarn in Finland I have no idea, the grey yarn I thought was Finnish that I bought in Finland called Ville Viking is actually Norwegian but exclusively sold in Finland, very confusing I know...)

Valmin on the blanket for size comparison.
The blanket weighs 534 grams which means I can now buy 10 skeins of wool yarn for my kitties in a row afghan.

I haven't stretched it or anything yet so I hope it turns a bit more symmetrical after that but honestly I am just happy I finished it.

And I remembered I could download the pattern onto my iPad and use that to finish so I didn't have to wait until M bought more ink for the printer which I feel a little ashamed I didn't think of sooner, hehe. *sweatdrop*
But the bunny looks good, I am really loving this pattern, it is the yarn that irks me, I have to have the TV on quite high so I don't hear the yarn squeek whilst I am crocheting because that is so bothersome.  Now I remember why I hate acrylic yarn. Too bad I still have 13 skeins of it....

I know I used the grey to make a Stark Trek ship for M. So if I have any left when I am done I will perhaps make another...

You may ask when you are done with what? Aren't you done with the bunny blanket? Well, yes, I am, but I kinda started another and I hope to use up the rest of the acrylic yarn too. Oops, atleast until I can go to the shop and buy the yarn for that other blanket I started, which I am hoping means I can buy 23 skeins of yarn... *Drool... more yarn....*
Tada, I made another start

Bunnies are appalled by my lack of will power and bending of rules and whatnot.
- Did you hear that Valmin, yesterday she said she would finish two things before starting one, but she clearly did not. Humans are so dumb. Why do we even keep them?
- They have the food dear.
- Right, where is my supper? It is clearly half past supper already!

Confession time

I have a confession to make. I am a serial starter, a procrastinator, a new idea kind of girl and even though I love finishes it is just something about those fresh new beginnings that are too alluring to resist.... I have a mountain of things that are almost finished or that needs a lot of work, projects that I still love and should find fun to do, but I just don't get around to finishing them... So I REALLY need to finish something soon! But I still want to have fun with making things and not be too strict, so every project that I Hate and don't want to finish I will unravel or give away instead of finishing them for the sake of finishing. That is my plan. And I will have a finish something day a month! I hope that will work. I don't want to put too much on my plate because I DO have those projects on a deadline and I am doing something on all of them. Remember that when I say:
I just have another start....

I decided I needed something dead easy to do, and even though those Maybelle squares fit the bill it was just too much of a hassle to bring with me anywhere because I would need lots of yarn, scissors and the pattern. So I justified a new start. A Star blanket that will be my travel and easy project for when the brain just need some therapeutic hooking.

Up until the second red it was all made from old wool leftovers, but when I saw Nille had a sale on wool yarn I bought some blues, almost the same red and a bright yellow.

Because they were all out of neutrals like white and grey I am still looking for sock yarn wool in those colours...
I think it will be a warm blanket for maybe the cabin or something. Even if the pattern is really easy it looks very complicated, this was the easiest star afghan pattern I could find.
From the point of one of stars arms and to the middle it was ten inches, about 26 cm, but I hope I will make it into a rather large blanket soon enough.

Finished Friday

But I almost forgot to post. I finished my shawlette (I learned a new word too, apparently a shawlette is a small shawl, so I thought it fitted) yesterday night and laid it to block all night, I still need to iron out some creases though, and when I have done that I will give you the measurements.

But it works perfectly as a scarf as well, and yes, that is my foot for comparison.

My friend has contributed to my bouquet,  I love the colours, the good thing about asking people to make flowers for you is that you get new yarn and colours. Plus it is fun and I love having things that others have made for me whilst thinking of me. Doesn't everyone?
If I have ever made anything to you it means I like you.
I wonder if I get any knitted ones for my bouquet as well?

Look! We have flowers in our garden!

And a bike! And they match!
I was a good girlfriend today and whilst with my mum we went to the shops and bought some stuff, had lunch and picked up boyfriends bike, I hope he'll like it.

And since I finished my shawlette I started another in thicker yarn. I hope this one goes a little faster, and that I have fewer mistakes, I only counted five on the last shawlette so it is moving forward. The light pink is from stash and the variegated one I bought at a sale, because I needed some wool to go with my stash buster yarn. Naturally I had to buy two skeins since they were on sale. I might not be stash busting as much as I think I am.
Hehe.

A little on a lot

I have done lots of different things, but not finished one of them. My goal this week is to finish the page on Henry, which is just where the invisible line is, so I just fill in from up the dress and up to the other lady's arm.

And I have done a little more on this project that I started a little before Christmas, I think I may be halfway now, depends on how large I want the finished item to be. But when I finish I will have another Christmas present. Not quite sure who will receive it, so I can show you this.

I hope it will turn into a table cloth or table runner. The crochet in the back is my bunny blanket, I  have finished another colour on that one, see I told you I have been doing a little on a lot.

And I was a little bored, so I started another granny thing, I have no idea what to turn it into, a scarf, a pillow, a blanket? Anyone have any ideas? It is a lovely little acrylic yarn in nice muted pastels. Not quite sure about the white, but if I only use it a little it might blend in.

And so I have no finishes, a start, and some continuation on some projects. The moving date is looming closer and closer and I feel way over my head… I want to be done with it already because we are at a point where we can't really do anything more until we have the keys to the other place….

Oh, and Mimle has a date planned, with an adorable harlekinish rabbit in July. I hope they will turn into a happy couple. Today she spent ten minutes washing my feet while I was on the computer. She is a sweety-pie.
