Late February Accessories

I am finally all better from having a cold for a couple of weeks. So I thought I should blog a little again. When I have a cold my head feels like it is full of cotton and I have a hard time thinking and with a runny nose and clogged sinuses things have hardly moved at all these past few weeks. Boyfriend was only sick for a week, lucky him.

Anyway, I started another wrist warmer from Simply Crochet number 11.
This is the fourth set I am making, and this one I am making just to have a present if I am in dire need one day, plus I loved the pattern, it is really fun.

I am practising making hats as well before I tackle the hat for my cousin and his big head, my head is child sized so no help there. Which is why I am buying yarn and making a hat for boyfriend. Remember the bow I showed you last? I thought it looked good on this hat. I used some wool I had lying around on a 6 hook. The pattern I loosely used was this. Only I increased the size to fit me. I wonder if I am going to add whiskers and eyes. I might. But not today.

This is wrist warmers number 3. Made for me, here I used the same number of starting chains as the pattern suggested, in number 2 and 4 I have added ten chains if memory serves me right....
Simply Crochet magazines is a magazine I highly recommend crocheters, they make lots of modern and stylish clothing that even I can make. I made the first in two weeks and the second in one day so you can say I am back to feeling better.

Before Christmas I splurged on this yarn, it is black with reflector yarn so that the wearer is visible for traffic both from behind and the front. I used the same pattern as the other hat, only this hat is not finished yet because I ran out of yarn. Gluhwurmchen, from Rico, but my mother has kindly said she would check her local yarn shop to see if they have more in stock. (I have no idea how to make the appropriate dots over the letters, sorry.)

Sorry about all the bad pictures, there is not that much light these days and my phone is bad at taking pictures, but I thought better bad pictures in the blog than no blog post right?

Anyway I am feeling better now, so hopefully I can finish that table cloth within February as was my goal. Even if I am feeling a bit fed up with those snowflakes at the moment... The end is in sight so I better just chug along, make a couple each day before I start one of my more interesting and new projects? Might be a good plan.

A sign from us

The bunnies and I won this sign at an auction, where all the money would go to neutering some bunnies who were saved and are now awaiting adoption. They still haven't met their goal yet, if my little bosses tell me something else they want from the auctions I might have to obey. All for a good cause;)

And finally, another pair is finished. My cousins boyfriend keeps steeling her wrist warmers so I made him a pair as well. Now I just have to send them.

And yes, I am making one pair for me too. This is the cheap but cosy alpaca yarn from the local co-op next to my mothers house. I hope they will have another yarn sale soon because I am running out of alpaca yarn.

I made myself a bow. Or rather two. I knitted them all by myself, and all I need now is the hairlip to attach to its back and I am good to go. I wonder if some of my hats need bows too. I did use wool so I might as well wear them as extra insulation for my head. ;) But I think the wool is tough enough that the big bow stands on its own so I think wool was the right choice of yarn on this one, even if it did feel a bit wasted.

Oh, and isn't the mug the best ever? I got mine from here, or rather the person who got me this got it from here:) Bunnies cloud watching. I can't wait for summer when the bunnies and I are going to sun bathe on the porch and look at the sky.
(Possibly under a parasol so I won't get too much sun on me).

My Snowflake Table cloth

 Is getting there.

So as there is only one month left of winter I am hoping to finish this soon. but I am making other things as well so might take me a while. But as soon as I finish something I will upload to for you to see. I think I wan't to start cross-stitching again soon.

This might be a January in years where I haven't started on Christmas presents yet... o.0

It is a little further than this now, but I hope it will last all the way to the edges. The yarn is sadly discontinued. I still have some in gold though.

I love making things that are in season even of that means the item won't be finished until next time it is in season, oh well. :)
(I need to see if maybe eBay or something has more of this sparkly yarn in this colour because I would love to make one smaller than this too. And perhaps more like a hexagon than a rectangle.)

Tuesday Tunes Counterattack with a nail polished fist

While I can't seem to get used to reading it any other way than anger me, I quite like this song, the other A- side is a little meh, I miss Tsunku though.
And I think I like the new girls even if I don't know much about them yet, I miss Meimei's long hair but Kanon looks great with her hairdo.

I wonder where my nail polish is, I think I want to make every other nail with pink and black sparkly nail polish, just because.

Happy New Year from Us

A little late, but I am never on time, I am either way ahead or way behind on everything so it fits that I am wishing you a happy new year a little into the new year.
We got these lovely mugs from my cousin for Christmas and I LOVE them, looks just like boyfriend and me.

This year we are buying a little more of our flat, I am contemplating a new phone and we bought a new iPad, or rather I did.

Valmin seems happier lately, he is fat and hopping about. He flops next to me now, and binkies around at night doing the 500 lap with Mimle doing the same some time later.
They love waking boyfriend in the morning jumping on top of him, while Mimle frantically tries to smoothen our duvet with boyfriend still in it.
They are both spoiled rotten and will jump you for treats. Also they both come when I call their name... Probably because I = Treats.

Look at that little face...

Here they are destroying their Christmas present :)

I have a finish, first thing this year. I used up some yarn I had left and made a small table cloth, Mimle and Valmin investigated. Both were unimpressed. I am thinking of using some more of the same leftover yarn in different colours to make more round table cloths and stitch them together with this one. I wonder if that will make a nice effect or not... We will see.

Here it is all finished. Sorry for the bad pictures, the sun is not yet up here.

The Last Presents

This Year

My cousin came home from London and I made these wrist warmers for her, I found the pattern in Simple Crochet magazine (issue 11 I think) that I got from boyfriend for Christmas. They are purple and grey and very soft, she said she loved them so I am happy, I want to make a pair for me too.
Photo curtesy by Matt, because my phone hates taking pictures in the dark.

I surprised my friend by making her a teapot cover for Christmas, she and her sister also got a crochet scarf that I forgot to take pictures of. This yarn was embroidery yarn left over from my grandmother, aunt and boyfriends grandmother... The pot was bought at Søstrene Grene. I made the entire thing in one go one night a few weeks ago while watching Roswell on Netflix. I had fun making this, I hope the tea stays warm because it is wool. Old itchy wool.

I bought this table runner at a local second hand store, it was halfway done, so I finished it and gave it to my uncle for Christmas, there was one started and one not started in the bag and I paid next to nothing, but I know my uncle was happy about getting it even if I hadn't made the entire thing myself...

Merry Christmas

It irks me how these things never center properly... But I adore the rabbit and nisse, from Permin, that makes the third I have made this year.

I finished another gift, only two left now. One because I had to frog it several times before I could make it work, but one half is done, so I can just give that and explain the other will follow.

And the other gift I have a few more days to make since I will met the recipient later in the holidays.

Here is someone who woke me up the other day. He is adorable. He nudged my hand to see if I had any treats, when he saw there were no treats he trotted back to the kitchen to snuggle with Mimle.
