Life rocks on and other items

Almost done with the horse now, just a leg, tail and backstitching. I am hoping to finish the first two tomorrow! I will stick with this until it is finished. I swear I will.

We got some more stuff from dad's today. I think just three more trips and then we are done! And soon I can show off some of the things we got from there too!

But in the meantime here are some of the things we found that we have sold or are in the process of selling:)

We find lots of strange things at dad's.

We sold this old suitcase from when dad lived way up north.

If the electricity goes one could always make cream the old fashion way;)

We sold this too.

Anyone want to make homemade jam and need jars? We are selling this too;)

I hope we get all the stuff out before the new owners move in….

Rocking Horse and bunny

Yes, I am still chugging along on this, whilst we are packing out of two flats, going to finish the horse's head first, then go backwards and see if I can manage around that pesky mistake on the wooden rocking bit… I hate when I make a mistake like that because for me things always have to be perfect, there is no almost, at least if I am going to keep it for myself because I will always know there is a mistake in something however small, but my recipients will not...

I do love how I divided the backstitch and did the bunny right after finishing that portion, the backstitching seem less daunting now, and the bunny looks fabulous!

We are running low on hay, we are buying tomorrow, but just in case to make the hay we do have left last longer we went outside to fill up Mimle's tummy. We have given her a little piece of dandelion and grass for a few days now. Plus we found a branch. Too bad it is birch, which is what we think I am allergic too so my nose and head feel as if they are falling off. But bunny loves eating the leaves and killing the branch. I am thinking I need to get my botanical skill up to speed so that we can forage more.

- Om nom nom says bunny.

-Finished, moar pleawse.

Since we are moving this summer we might not have the time to dry dandelion and nettles…. Bunny is going to be so sad :/ My wallet too.

Not rocking my boat

So I got out this little beauty the other day because sadly I made a mistake and I put her on hiatus, her hiatus took over a year, shame on me. So anyway, I took her out, found the mistake, redid the entire rocking horse wooden under section, made my way up from the front legs all the way over to the back legs, and I am missing one stitch. By one stitch it is not adding up:/ I re-counted the top of the rocking horse and it seems in order, so I guess there was a mistake I either redid or failed to spot when I frogged the entire under section of that stupid horse and started again. Anyway, I am not doing that under thing again for a while now, I think I am just going to do the horse properly with backlogs and all and maybe I can spot the deviant….

But yay, for stitching bug being back!
Here is a picture of bunny and boyfriend. Bunny is feeling a bit left out and under-petted so she is taking matters in her own paws and demanding cuddles the old fashioned way. By jumping into someones lap and refusing to go before she is saturated in the cuddle department.

Oh, and netflix was down a lot today, so I did the dishes, went into the garden and brought back edibles for bunny and cross stitching. I should wash some clothes too, but right now, I am on dinner duty.

Something new which is old found on an adventure

My friend and I went on an adventure. First we joined ranks at my place and walked from there to the bus. We had no idea when the bus was scheduled to departure but we knew it would leave every thirty minutes, but we were not in a hurry. So we leisurely strolled down to the bus stop where we saw that the bus had just passed. So we waited, however suddenly we realized that we were waiting on the wrong side of the road, we were not going into town this time but rather into the countryside. We hurriedly ran under the road and to the other side, looking at the bus chart we saw that the bus should have left four minutes ago. A bit miffed we started checking our smart phones to see if the bus was late but while we were checking the app we saw the bus coming. We did have a little luck all in all. So we joyfully entered the bus but the joy did not last, because this bus takes another route than the one I am used to so we had to ask the bus driver to let us off on the correct stopping place, we did not know the name, just that it would be near the church. Somehow we must have looked rather sombre because the bus driver asked us if we were going to a funeral. Which we were not I might add. We were going on an adventure.

We did get off at the right stop and walked down to a market. We looked at furniture and second hand small items and this is what we bought.
A small heart plate, I want to put little tea candles on it.
Some lovely little bunnies to put in my flowers (since I never actually manage to make them flower they need some sort of prettifying.
Lastly some cross stitch fabric and floss and all with only 35 NOK. I must say that was a bargain.

Then we ventured down some steps and into the furniture department. If you remember, this is where I used to work and paint old furniture. They have used furniture that they haven't done anything with too not just used painted furniture.
But I found this! I have looked so long for something like this. A small stool, and inside there is lots of room for my current knitting/crochet Wip, with all the yarn needed. Perfect! And when visitors arrive they can sit on it too. As you can see, my friend and I used it while waiting for the bus, after we ate a hamburger at the market. While we were waiting for the bus might I add it started raining, but not that much, it only started pouring after we were securely on the bus.

It was light and easy to carry home, but we did take the small bus almost all the way home.

I will do something about it because the cover is a bit dirty. But I haven't decided what yet. I can make a new cover, or I can crochet something on top of this one. We will see, I will not make my decision until we've moved, I need to see how it will appear in our new flat. :)

Here I am, meet Bear too!

My cousin found this picture of me and my bear from when I was tiny. How adorable is that dress! I so want one to wear now! Anyway, my bear looks so unrecognizable, no bandage, no crooked nose and head almost falling off. He is so brown and FURRY. Now he looks well loved and unfortunately after a small camping accident still smells burnt under his bandage.

Here is what Bear looks like now, he is a bit ashamed of his burnt arm and hides it under my current crochet blanket.
Which is now on it's fourth repeat. The lightest shade of pink is almost used up, but I still have enough to make one row of the dark and maybe two more of the first pink. And then I will add a border. I think I might have enough of that lightest shade of pink to make the first row of the border, but we will see…
Then there is my knitting blanket. I like just making aimless squares and sewing them together, so much fun, and easy to do when your brain is asleep.
Last picture is me with my stitching bug returned. I was stitching this with a deadline, but since that date has past quite some time ago I can do this piece in my own pace, which suits me better I think!

My stitching bug is in fact so much returned that I started something new, I know, I know, shame on me, but I am so close to finishing that card that another start is ok right?? And it is yet another present, this time I will make a small tote bag, which I will give to someone for Christmas I think… (this one is pre made, but I might just whip out my sewing machine to make the rest, because tote bags are ridiculously difficult to come by here. ) If I succeed in my plan. You see, my plan it to stitch all the way through the bag, and when I have finished with the cross-stitch I will remove the aida and all that will be left will hopefully be the stitches…. I am planning to make tote bags to be used for crafting to some of my crafting friends or family and add some small crafting essentials. What do you think of my plan?

We have been going through things at my dads place since it got sold but it needs to be cleaned and emptied for the new owner. So last weekend we went through some of his things and threw away so much stuff that he accumulated that just did not work anymore. We found four old vaccum-cleaners that did not work, six lamps that did not work, two coffee machines that did not work and lots of small electrics that did not work… We had to take two trips with the car! And still there are more electronic items inside the flat that is old and almost unusable. I have no idea why he felt it was necessary to keep all that stuff that was broken, I doubt he could fix them, so why not get rid of them?
It is a lot of work, and we are still no where near finished. Next time we will throw away all his old paint-containers and painting gear, we have to do it when the recycling station is open though.
It is rather exhausting, but we did find some small gems, but I will show you those when all the things are inside our new flat I think for a show and tell. Four knitted sweaters were found just fyi. ;)

Bunny says hi, she claims she has been poorly neglected these past few days. She never gets any cuddles, hardly any treats, and not nearly enough fresh hay. She is about to form a formal complaint and send to the police so I better get on with the head scratching. She is sitting on the mat next to me giving me the stink eye.

Draumur

My new favorite chocolates, all with licorice. :) The first one is from Iceland and it is divine.
I do decree that I will have this chocolate every weekend until forever it is soo good. I got my mother hooked on it too, I think.

Mimle is not very impressed, she prefers crisps over chocolate, and ate some yesterday when they fell on the floor. Ooops. Then we vacuumed to make sure all the crisps were gone, and she found another wooden-toy to demolish.

So now it looks like this. Again...

And since this IS the year of the blankets this little beauty has resurfaced and I am now on my third row and third pink colour. Here is the pattern I am using, and I am using some Helen Novita yarn I bought years ago. (it is now discontinued, which is why this blanket was so slow going I had no idea how to make it with the limited balls of yarn I had at my disposal, luckily I found some more yarn, but not in the same pink so it will be a three tone pink thing with a purple and grey border I think, but we will see when I am done.)

And I am knitting. It is not much, but I hope I can turn it into something, I just need to reach 35 cm and then someone has to teach me how to do decreasing….

Oh, and my letter was published in the latest Cross Stitch Card Shop! So I will get a prize one day. :) Lucky me!
