A -Z challenge B

 B is for backstitching

Backstitching is used to outline or make definition when you embroider or as I do cross stitch. It is usually done in black, but not always, sometimes the backstitching does not follow the holes in the fabric you use so you have to pierce the fabric and make a small hole with your needle.
Backstitching can be dreadfully boring, just as sewing in yarn ends in crochet or knitting I haven't met a single person who actually likes backstitching, but it does make a cross stitch piece come to life so it is well worth it I think.

Here is Somebunny to love- Eskimo kiss without backstitch

And here it is with backstitch.

Not rocking my boat

So I got out this little beauty the other day because sadly I made a mistake and I put her on hiatus, her hiatus took over a year, shame on me. So anyway, I took her out, found the mistake, redid the entire rocking horse wooden under section, made my way up from the front legs all the way over to the back legs, and I am missing one stitch. By one stitch it is not adding up:/ I re-counted the top of the rocking horse and it seems in order, so I guess there was a mistake I either redid or failed to spot when I frogged the entire under section of that stupid horse and started again. Anyway, I am not doing that under thing again for a while now, I think I am just going to do the horse properly with backlogs and all and maybe I can spot the deviant….

But yay, for stitching bug being back!
Here is a picture of bunny and boyfriend. Bunny is feeling a bit left out and under-petted so she is taking matters in her own paws and demanding cuddles the old fashioned way. By jumping into someones lap and refusing to go before she is saturated in the cuddle department.

Oh, and netflix was down a lot today, so I did the dishes, went into the garden and brought back edibles for bunny and cross stitching. I should wash some clothes too, but right now, I am on dinner duty.

Another Wip down

Yes, I had only a few lines left to do on this, and other than me and backstitching not really being on the best of terms I have no idea why this took so long. But it is finished now, and only one more wip to do before I can start that cute little penguin card that I got in this months WOXS. (207)
Even if we pretend it is still summer, Christmas will soon be upon us and it is best to prepare so you have all the gifts and cards on time.

But I will go back to the bunnies I am doing, maybe I will be done this week so I can start on the holiday preparations.

I kept smiling because I didn't want you to hate me

So it is Tuesday tunes again, and I have two songs that I like this week:) The first is in Chinese and the other in Japanese. Edit/ I found the actual music video for the Chinese one, and it has a Alice in Wonderland theme. #happy

And since this is a stitching blog, here is a little guy I've been working on:) He is worked in one strand, which I don't like, but as he was a freebie and I don't have enough spare thread I just have to live with him looking a bit faint. But if I make him again I will make sure to use two strands. :) I love somebunny to love so I am certain I will make another if someone I know will give birth to a little boy^^

And I have made the bird from WOCS 204, but I as it will be a birthday card for someone who occasionally reads my blog I will not show you a picture. (most of you know how it looks I presume  too so)
But when gifted I will maybe out it up in my cards section.

The title today is from the above song, my favorite line from it, and I really can relate to it, but other than that it has no deeper meaning for this post.

I am human and I need to be loved

I framed "Somebunny to love collecting flowers" from waaaay back here: and backstitching here:

To be honest, the framing was a nightmare, and I sort of cheated, but only because this frame was one of my flea-marked finds and I love love love it....
Even if it was a bit broken at the back so I had to duct-tape the entire thing.  Even if it doesn't fit with the rest of my "Somebunny to love" framings. Even though it might have looked better with a more romantic picture in it, I love it just the way it is.
But all is well that ends well.
( since the duct-tape is no where near the piece I think I am safe regarding aging and glue etc)

Boyfriend tried to eat an apple today. Here is what frantically ensued:

....a bit later we saw bunny running under the sofa with a piece looking stuck in her throat, scared she had actually stuck the apple somewhere, we moved the sofa and saw: bunny happily munching away.... sigh.

Oh, and look. I am even further now, and my 100 stitched aday goal is currently not too much, hope I can show you a bit more of their dresses soon. Or should I go all the way to the right before I start sewing upwards? Haven't really gotten the hang of bigger kits yet...
I want to finish one of the wifes this month. Think it is too much? Oh, and isn't this particular kit suppose to come with beads? Because mine didn't? I have sent an email to DMC but I have not gotten a reply yet. (been three days already though)

I am now at season 3 in charmed.... can not say I look forward to the last episode in season three though because we all know what happens then.... :(
(the title today is from the Charmed theme song, which as you can probably tell is stuck in my head at the moment, that and all of Tuuli's songs. Got her CD for Christmas and am loving it. Maybe I'll show you a song next time?)

I was tagged.

So, since it is Thanksgiving now, here is a list of what I am thankful for. I tend to tell myself every night one thing about the day I had that was nice and that I am thankful for, helps me to feel a bit less sad.

1. The number one thing I am thankful for is my family and friends. I know that I can call them anytime and they are really great to hang around and best of all, I know I won't get shunned if I say something strange. That is nice.

2. I am thankful for rabbits. Really. I love all the bunnies I've had and nothing cures a raining heart better then some cuddle time with a furball, and my current furball throws in a lot of kisses in the bunch and that helps a lot more. I don't think I can live a life without animals.

3. Chocolate, definitely chocolate. I love love love chocolate, if I can have chocolate with a cup of tea, something good on the TV and some cross-stitch even better.

4. Making things, crafting really help me to convey to people how I feel. I make things for people I love to let them know I think about them and that they are special, and everybody needs to feel special? right?

Oh, and I love Cross-stitching, it keeps me calm and happy.
And look, to help me tackle the dreaded backstitching, I have started already. One thread everyday while I stitch the motif. (if possible)

( oh, and it is Ben from A1's birthday today, so happy birthday)

And I will see myself come alive at last I will touch the sky

Now this little pretty has been neglected for a long time, don't think I've stitched on her since we moved houses to be honest, and that is more than half a year ago. All I had left was the backstitching which took me only two days work. I really need to stop putting my projects away just because I've hit the backstitching stage....
I am looking at frames at the moment too, but I have not made a decision, my other Somebunny to love stitch is in a plain wooden frame, and I am fresh out of those. Need to go to IKEA I guess;)

This is the design I made today. Some Selbu-mittens. Recently it has been snowing here, but today all the snow has melted... Hope the snow will come back soon, it is a lot less cold with some snow, and not to mention, less dark! Is it snow where you live? Snow always makes me happy. I feel like drinking hot chocolate and sing christmas songs while I make some homemade presents. ^^

Here is another bauble since the christmas time is fast approaching! I think this one is my favorite, and after all my wip clearouts I am so going to make all of these! Maybe this is the one design I am giving to my mother this year? To make an ornament with this? What do you think? I love it.
(this is the reason this post is not in norwegian, so my mother won't know about the present I am thinking about giving her)

If you are wondering about the title of todays post I can offer you an explanation, me and boyfriend are watching "Star Trek Enterprise" and singing the theme song.
http://www.lyricsbox.com/m-people-lyrics-star-trek-enterprise-theme-song-pqdqscs.html this is really the lyrics, but my boyfriend can't seem to get them right, and sing the line from the title of todays post. It is really quite endearing, and makes no sense.

Oh, yeah, and about the poll, it looks like the bunnies won, so I am going to make them, as soon as the threads land in my mailbox, and then I am going to have a giveaway, yay!
