Friday catchup and finishing things

I am still busy making more of these Lisbon-times from drops for a special lady's birthday this summer, I hope I will finish, the yarn is a bit of a hassle to work with, but it is so fluffy and soft. I am sure the shawl will look beautiful whilst being warm but still light.
Still chugging along on my ripples baby-blanket, little miss E is already born, so I better finish quickly!

And then there is the finish. I gave my friends a Easter egg (well to be honest it was a yellow paper bag with while dots on it, but it was Easter-y) and in it between some candy and a small handlotion was a crochet basket and bunny eggwarmers also from drops. And, I am quite proud, done all by myself, i read the pattern, and then just knitted and I did not make a single (big) mistake! I think it is time to level up on my knitting adventure!

I have been going to our new shiny library and borrowing loads of books, and crocheting a little and chatting to the friendly librarian. I have no idea how many books I've borrowed this month, but quite a few.  Yesterday I was so into the book I was reading that I did not quite go to bed... Oops.

I had my friends over for an Easter-lunch and Christmas dinner and workshop. We decorated eggs, sowed some seeds in decorated milk cartons. I love doing seasonal things.

E and I went to a lecture-thing about Roald Dahl which was very interesting. I am now on the waiting list for his autobiography.

Oh, and I bought some yarn, I have been quite good lately and not bought a lot, some for specific projects, but this I bought just because. I love the colours.

More finishes

I am still helping my mother with the move and the end is in sight, but that means sporadic blogposts, but here are some finishes... All in knit!

My hands are also slightly sore from the late minute crochet baby blanket I made, so I decided to knit for a while, then maybe I will get a little better too.

For my friends at Valentines, they got a set of mittens each.

But as usual I stared a little late, so they got them first now, oops.

in Blue fabel from Drops and Alpacca from Nille in the purple set. The pattern is really easy, but I thought I could need some pattern reading comprehension and also I made a buttonhole by myself.
So yay me.

I made a hat for my cousin, here sported by husband, my cousin likes her hats big, so I bought two skeins, I used 54 grams so I made one for myself too.

This pattern is also really simple, but hey, let's do simple for a while and build up my jishin so that I will feel more equipped to tackle more knitting and continue on with my knitting adventure and then one day I will make a dress and some shorts. One day, but the day is getting nearer, I can feel it!

Pink Alpacca from Sandnes I think.

And a picture of the bunnies fighting for resources because that is what they do most days. And molt, and beg for pets when I am going to bed or going out the door. Bunnies!

This months stash busting is in plus, I only bough 600 grams of yarn, but so far I have used up 909 grams...
Yay me again.

Trettende Desember

Guess what I woke up to? Mimle biting her gate frantically, after we woke up we saw why.

The gate was open, and this guy was in the livingroom! Mimle was just telling us, she of course did not open the gate or go into the livingroom! But I think it was her after all.

M and I had tea for breakfast, it was good!

Today I had green tea with cinnamon, ginger, cardamum, nutmeg, cloves, pepper, pomegranate and lemon. It was good, citrusy teas are a great morning tea I've found.

Later my friends came over and we celebrated our birthdays, we had dinner, cake, tea and lussekatter since it is after all Lucia today!

I got to use our fancy dinner plates that needs to be hand washed, Fits with our pretty Marimekko table cloth, I do wish we had matching drapes, but I am on the verge of giving up on those...

We saw Christmas movies, Love Actually and the Grinch and crafted things. It was lots of fun. But next year I want to make something together, like a real workshop. Let's try to start in November?

I want sparkly nails too! I got blueberry tea and it was good:)

Last year *Kio won the almond in the porridge and got yarn, she made these for us! Mine has hearts!

Don't we look smashing?

Btw I am trying out blogger on the iPad, we will see if I need to redo it or not!/ edit/ Yeah, I gave up on that, long posts need a computer I guess:(

My continuing Knitting adventure

I have done it! With lots of help I have managed to knit a sock! And it fits M snuggly on his foot.

My next goal is to make one with lots less help and without any added stitches.
( I started with 56 and ended with 59, I have no idea how I managed that, but at least I didn't loose any.)
And I don't have to finish by the end of Socktober, just Christmas;)

Look! They look rather smashing when worn.
And Mimle thinks they smell weird, daddy's feet usually stink more, these socks are practically odorless.

When not worn they look a lot less like a sock and more like something monstrous that resembles a sock but not quite. Valmin seems to think so too.

In other news, I am preparing for Halloween. I had a party last weekend with my friends and I made these cool coasters. I also decorated and made a small ghost, I want to make more ghosts and make a garland. I hope to have another Halloween post ready later, but I really liked this pattern, the yarn were leftover yarn from my aunt, Sandnes Duo and some thick wool embroidery thread. We al dressed as witches and watched Kiki's delivery Service and Sweeney Todd, I love both movies. :) I had fun well into the morning with a cozy breakfast. The bunnies I think had as much fun, they got lots of treats and pets and the don't really like guests, but my friends are OK. ;)

On Halloween we are going to another party. I wonder what I'll dress up as then...

On Sunday M and I were invited with by a couple and went to see the Martian, I liked it, although the 3D effects hurt my head and the boys behind us were thoroughly obnoxious. Space and the sea are indeed equally frightening to me and I would not like being stranded by myself at all.

Photo an hour October

I know this photo an hour thing has been going around the blog world, and I am not quite sure who started it or what the rules are. But my friend and I decided to do photo an hour as a sort of diary of times where we do things together.
Todays excursion went first to a rather gloomy place and then the fun started, but what is with all these words? I'll let the photos speak for themselves as this is a photo post after all.

6. o'clock
I never really went to bed, so I started my day at six. Bunnies were running about, but you never get a good photo of that do you? So here they are in a pause.

7.
I am knitting fervently, hoping that if I encounter a problem I could take it to *Kio to see if she could help, but in the end I didn't need it and I managed to finish my hat! But because of that there was no time for breakfast, oops.

8 o'clock
And as I am getting ready, this is the face I get when I was in too much of a hurry to give treats.
Not a happy Mimle.

9.
Waiting for the bus, this is todays outfit, my new lovely blue coat, these days I am loving dark blues, matching wool pantyhose and a light purple/pink dress and not matching shoes. Oops again.

On the bus with a bunch of older ladies, I am guessing they are all going to the same event, I wonder what so early in the morning.

10.
One of the main reasons today was the day we planned to go out. I had a dentist appointment. I hate the dentist. Luckily for me, he didn't really do anything today, unluckily for me, I have to go back, three times.... Oops.

11.
On the train.
The leaves are now mostly yellow or orange and the wind is cold. But no snow yet so that is good.

12.
Lunch, at McDonalds. We were hungry and didn't want to walk too far so we sort of went to the first place we found. I like hamburgers and chips, but next time let's try to be healthier, ok?

13.
Shopping!
No surprise there? The Asian section has exploded, we need to go back another time and see if there is any other fun things there. Wonder if they have any Japanese Tv-series?

And look, more art.
There was a full wall of this. We love books.

14.
And here we are at glazed and amused (we keep calling it glazed and amazed which sounds so much better) with the second important task for the day, pick up the cups we made at my hen-do.
Guess which one is mine?

15.
On the way home, by bus. We just made the bus as well, lucky, so we could use the same ticket as we did when we took the tram to pick up the mugs.

16.
My new yarn came in the post so we picked them up before going back to my place to fawn over it. I really adore Drops yarn. Oh, and we bought some Sandnes yarn too, to make socks, because *Kio said she would teach me.

17.
Home alone, and really tired. Almost asleep, so I try to keep busy multitasking. Playing some tapped out. Look at those purple bunnies, fitting?

18.
I have no picture of because I fell asleep. Oops.

19.
M is home! And I got sour cream porridge and we watched some X-files.

20.
Is friday, so here is some of my candy for the weekend, in the bowl my friend E2 gave me, I LOVE this bowl and use it every weekend. I have a matching mug too. Yay.

21.
Tired again, I have no idea what I have been doing these past two hours except procrastinate going to bed since it is so boring and I am too tired to go to bed, M is busy nerding and Mimle is not amused. Think it is time to just capitulate and go to bed, but better finish up this blogpost first, which is what I am doing at almost eleven...

Good Night

Four

Today I had my friends over again and we made some more headway.
Todays sneak-peek is:

The underdress, my friend helped me a little  (or rather she did everything) to customize the back because otherwise we would have seen the underdress. Now that the straps have been modified the dress is invisible when I have my dress on. And speaking of my dress, it is AGAIN, finally finished. The ruffle is on, all the beads are on. Everything is set. I am going to lay it flat with some pins in it, in the hopes that some of those pointy picots will lay down flat instead of curling upwards until the the big day. And this time it will stay finished, I will not add anything more, because I think it is perfect.
But there is still lots to do.
Boyfriend wanted the vest a bit modified so that is next.
I am thinking of modifying a beautiful shawl my mother made for me, if she has any leftover yarn that is...

My friends and I got some more of the decorations done as well.
Here we are, crocheting heart garlands, sewing the underdress and cutting the paper-stars for the glasses.
It was a lot of fun and we got a ton done.
Boyfriend also had his own little craft workshop with a hammer and later with his trusty mac, not necessarily on the same project though, more info to come at a later time.

In the last minute we checked to see if we could understand the napkin folding we decided on, and we did, so on Friday we need to fold almost 70 of these.... No sweat right?
Friday will be a busy day.

Eight

Me and my friends had a crafty day together.
Since I am crazy I decided the other day to make my own cake topper inspired by some beautiful ones on etsy, I asked my friends to help me, I am after all not the best with clay. And it is much more fun playing together.

So I bought fimo clay and heartily lept into new and uncharted territory.

It feels like a mix between regular clay and PlayDoh but way less messy, I like the texture, too bad my ears didn't turn out the same size, but my friends helped and now everything is properly sized.

First my friend made the bows in white clay but then we remembered that we had bought pink and purple so we made the bows again... Or rather she did. Several times. Kio then made flowers for the girl bunny.

In the oven.
If the temperatures exceed 130 toxic fumes would be produced and the package stated we would need to go outside. Kio helped read the instructions, she found them in German and began to read, only it wasn't German but Danish. Hehe. Almost the same;)

I painted the eyes and ears, and that is about how far I got to help XD
But they look really good.

Oh, and I am even crazier than I first stated. Since my dress was finished yesterday I decided to bling it up a bit and am sewing itty bitty pearls on it. But that is ok, I have a week left.
Lots of time to be crazy!
