Friday finished

I was gone for a bit these past few days and these guys do not approve. Mimle keeps hovering over me to make sure I am ok, but I smell weird so they would rather not I touch them, but don't worry bunnies, I will shower soon and then I will smell like me and not the hospital!
And then there better be bunny kisses is all I am saying.
And we have rather bought the best bunny present for Christmas this year so they better be good.

Also I have a finish as after all that is what Friday's are for,

the lizard shawl,  Which I started way back in March, then it looked like this:

I bought some balls of yarn on sale when my lys started out but I know I have added quite a few more balls of yarn since crochet always consume more yarn than you think...

I did some #crochetonthego in Japan on the Shinkansen.

Crocheting while waiting at the dentists office soon it was growing so much I couldn't take it out of the house anymore...

And then it was done, I added two rows of sc instead of just one but it was still more a ball of something crocheted than a scarf. So I started blocking. One section that could fill my blocking quilt at a time.
And it went from this...

...to this...

to this, all done, blocked an ironed and modelled on my pretty haired friend who matched her outfit quite coincidently with my finished object. ..

I love the variegated thread. Viking Frøya in colour 274.

243 grams, so five balls of yarn.

It is quite long, longer than my arms when I stretch them out I think, I like the effect of this pattern and it was easy to follow but somehow it didn't really flow all that well for me. Perhaps it would be better in a different yarn? But I am quite happy with it and now that something is finished I can start something new with a clear conscience.

and I feel a lot better now and am healing quite well so I guess I will be back into mischief with the bunnies soon.

Bunday and a new friend

Valmin is better, yay!
He is pooping and eating and drinking and jumping and generally making mischief like a bunny should. Mimle is happy, although she is a bit upset the critical care has stopped coming. And Valmin is slowly stopping to run away when he sees me too which is a plus.

Mimle can be caring too.

Rip box
This is the underside of the bunnies box, they have chewed all the way through, Mimle was not very subtle in telling me she wanted something new to chew on...
#it wasn't me
bunstruction
It could still be useful, but it is a hazard standing like that when they start digging so we threw it out. Now I need to clear the last boxes from mum's house so the buns can get one of those instead.

Bunday treats.

Bunnies have had herbs and hay-cakes on the floor and the humans have eaten the last of the apple cake and even some cupcakes from the neighbours. And sushi on Friday as usual and taco on Saturdays is the new thing, bunnies love taco Saturday because they get rocket.

Oh, and we have a new pet! A pikachu.
Remember last week when I saw one on our walk and it ran away, well I have one now. Hah!

Other then that
my box is finished, and I have done a lot more on some secret stuff since it is less than three months 'til Christmas and all.

Finished Friday, rebels and buns

Remember I was busy making baby clothes for a gift for little Maru-chan who was born in May, I made booties, a blanket and four bibs and since I finished the Flower Power Cardigan too last Saturday I included it in the gift (with a vintage Postman Pat book) for the next day because we were invited to meet the baby and see the adults and we got cake the next day^^ The parents said they loved the present but because I finished just the day before I forgot to measure how much I used, I know I started one ball of new dark pink and used a little on the next ball and a tiny bit lighter pink... So I am guessing about 60 grams... And three shiny new pink buttons from my LYS. Little Maru-chan looked super cute in her clothes but I do think wool is a bit hot for summer but you never know, for the past week it has been mostly raining. But I would gladly make another when she is too big for her gift;)

I felt inspired and started another Flower Power cardigan from the book Cute and Easy crocheted Baby clothes by Nicki Trench, and would you know I ran out of yarn :S 80 grams of dark pink, so I started a dress, but what happened? I ran out of yarn again, at 80 grams again, so I need to buy more yarn... Shoganai yo.

So I did. I went to my LYS, in the rain and got soaked.
#yarnaddict

And I got the last two balls of this colour and I will finish my cardigan, I also bought four tiny pink buttons. I wonder what kind of finish I will do on this. The original has flowers, so either that or a pocket I think. But I haven't bought any more of the pink cotton because then I have to go out of town, so maybe next week, unless I can bribe Mister M to go yarn shopping for me;)

In other news, the bunnies, and mostly Mimle is molting again...
The blob to the right is Valmin and the one on the left is Mimle and just one session. They both hate brushing so i try to pluck whilst petting which sort of works better for us at least... But they are still at the point where they run away from me if I come close with a determined look. I swear those bunnies are mindreaders and always know what I am up to.

Also I am a rebel. Using my clothes pin for taco spices on my tea and sporting a Christmas towel in July. But it is Jul-i-gjen i Juli so there, a bad joke for you Norwegians.

A-Z challenge R

R is for redesign

I used to work with redesign and paint furniture at an recycle skip place and I had lots of fun. And so I implemented a little bit of that here at home too. I love buying used and old things and spice them up a little. Most of my projects are still not entirely Done, so I haven't had that many reveals of them yet.
But here is the HOL from IKEA turned into a bunny toilet and hay rack.

First we cut two holes into it for easy running in and out. It is recommended to have at least two openings so that your bunny will feel more safe.

We tacked linoleum into the floor so that any pee left by some bun who forgets to put his actual bum (Yes Valmin, we are looking at you) into the toilet before peeing will be easier to clean and won't seep into the wood. We did the same with the backside so that the hay won't fall to much behind the crate. Then we made small holes into the linoleum to fit the hay rack into. And voila, less spillage of hay, less stray poops and more content rabbits.

My cousin also came and put the hinges up on the lid so that it won't come off when we resupply the hay. Oh, and this is just one night of hay eating, we cleaned the HOL thoroughly yesterday but since it was already dark opted to take pictures the next day in sunlight and the little trolls had a party. We change the toilet every three days, more if it is hot in case of flies.

Hay (pun intended) I am eating and pooping, let me have some privacy says Mimle.

Then Valmin joins in to and has another feast.

Bunnies and Kitties and glitter and yarn

(I have done three more repeats since this picture was taken this morning)

My kitties in a row afghan is coming along nicely, it seems though that even though I bought lots of yarn it is not enough to finish this blanket:S
So far I have made 20 cm and used 172 grams of yarn and since I am adamant this will be given to someone adult sized who likes to take naps it needs to be big enough, so M and I had a brief discussion and agreed I needed to buy enough yarn so that I only use these eight colours...
I have three different greys, three different browns and black and white, all proper kitty colours... We haven't figured out how much more I need to buy yet though.. Better let M do that math, me and numbers are not exactly best buds.

But I am loving this pattern, and it does go rather smoothly and fast, at least when I am doing it right, I have done four or five rows more than once, but I blame that, still, on the French Tv Watching.

I love my new bunny dish and sparkly bunnies,
I decided the one on the bottom is Valmin being blissfully unaware that he is being threaded on by Mimle who is trying to see if there is something edible up on that dish.

If the bunnies are not looking for food they are sleeping. We had company over this weekend, M's friends and both bunnies are not shy about begging for treats! At least this time no one was bitten by Mimle in disapproval.

I am amazed I haven't killed this flower yet! We will see if it will actually survive easter!
Speaking of Easter, I should take out my decorations and look them over, I L O V E easter, there are so many adorable bunny decorations.

I was at the store and since I am easily amused, here is something I found funny:

Round cheese? Looks square to me.

Uki uki Rabu

Today we have had a little sleepy day here in the burrow. Rabbits L O V E their bed, but it seems that some bun somehow always end up with a little bum out of the bed so we are contemplating buying a second so that both fit perfectly.

Mimle was flopping in the bed when Valmin decided to join her and there was no room for two flopping bunnies so they had to be loafing bunnies instead. I love it when they smush their heads together like that. True love.

The box is almost finished! I adore the colour and I know I said that I was feeling like I was done with all the painting, but I still find myself searching for more items to paint in this colour... Like the frame over my dollhouse or the plate rack from my dad because this colour makes my heart go all fluttery and uki uki doki doki, and it does go with our purple wall too.
And small things don't take up so much space while they get remodelled anyway so it won't clutter that much.

And I am making some more bunting, all from scraps. This palette does look rather easter/spring-y don't you think?

Tadah, I made a pillow

Since I quite like to finish things (you can't really tell by my long list of wips can you, but I really do like to finish things, I just easily get bored) I sat up all night making this little pillow. I quite like it. And since my sewing machine is still not in the new flat I sewed it all by hand and my arm quite hurts. Moving has turned out to not be too good to my body, I have bruises everywhere, my knee is sore with a huge bruise, I sprained my ankle, my arms are heavy and my back is aching. Rather fun actually, but now I can sit and watch TV and stitch! I also found the box with wips, so no more starts for me:( Too bad as I was enjoying those mini finishes (well, one mine finish).

And our cabinet is looking fuller each day. Look at all the bunnies? Adorable.

At the moment I am stitching a Permin wall hanging with a rabbit and daffodil that I started quite some time ago, I love stitching this, and I hope I will have it finished soon so that it can be with its pair.
I bought it way back here. An here is where I started from, I don't think I have touched this since I showed you my wips list.

I will leave you here with some bunny pictures, the bunnies seem to have gotten over their little tiff yesterday, but I am still on edge. Mimle still runs hiding if Valmin is a little rough, but I have spotted them sitting together in a little bunny ball. They are adorable. But it is getting a little hard giving him his meds every six hours, I want at least eight hours solid sleep soon as I am getting cranky.

These pictures are a couple of days old, but they still huddle together like this I just don't want to bother them with taking a picture in case it disturbs their frail peace.

I love my bunnies. I just hope they love each other. I know they love me, because when Valmin was chasing Mimle, she went and hid next to me. I gave her some cuddles and she was happy, happy enough that when Valmin came she stayed so that I could pet them both next to each other.

Look at his poor ear, it is healing though. I hope he won't have a big hole in his ear forever...

Moving on up

Since today is moving day we are busy busy busy! But look at our little bunny corner at our new place?
Did you notice the big pink polkadot rabbit on top of the cabinet?

I like it:)

Yesterday we went to IKEA to buy some new rugs for the bunnies and look at a sofa and a cabinet for the kitchen. And we were so lucky we got the last sofa, and everything will be delivered today! Tomorrow it will really feel like home when we turn into a family of four.
