Birthday and Bunday

So Happy Birthday Mister M! I hope you had a blast even though
we had a slow day at home.
We made sushi and baked a whole cake just for us.
(We did give some to the neighbours.)

I hope you liked your presents. I had fun picking them out.

Other than that the bunnies have been super lazy all day.

We have not, we have done some cleaning, clearing the storage a bit, going for a walk and changing the curtains and washing them as you can see in the next picture where Mimle is up to no good.

This weekend we saw three movies, one Finnish/Swedish (hallonbåtsflyktningen), one Swedish (Hundreåringen som klatret ut av vinduet og forsvant) and one Icelandic (Rams). And we laughed a lot on the first two, the third was funny too, but not as funny as the others since there were some sad moments. I would recommend seeing all of them. The Rams one had some gorgeous Icelandic knitted sweaters so if you are a knitting fan I would strongly recommend watching.

 Happy Birthday to me!

Black tea, ginger, cloves, star anise, masala chai, peppermint and anise tea for today. Very good, unfortunately we had a whole day planned and off we went shopping before I could finish my tea.

We now have most of the presents bought.

Bunnies gave me a colouring book with Christmas pictures in it, but I must say they were sloppy with the wrapping, because this wrapper was around my presents on Saturday too XD

On our doorstep there was another package, this one was full of yarn. But alas it was not a Birthday present, it was yarn I bought to finish the last of the presents... 

Another thing I bought for me was new curtains, I tried buying them three times but they ran out of stock, I finally succeeded, but the trouble did not end there. I had to go to three stores to try and pick up my parcel before going to the right one...

But now they are here, and hung, and they look gorgeous!

Oh, and the best birthday present, snow! I love snow! 

I had tons of cake and am feeling rather satisfied so now I am off to bed.

P.S: I also got to pet both bunnies so I guess I am forgiven, which is also a rather perfect present, the most perfect present would have been bunny licks, but those are scarce around here these days.

Tiende Desember

Today's tea is black tea with cardamum, cinnamon, ginger, apple and caramel. It was delicious, seems like they are trying to use a bit of the same ingredients to make all the teas taste a bit the same but you can taste the differences between them.

 I L O V E this cup, one of my favourites, I only have one, but I would love the whole set, too bed shipping to Norway costs a lot, I got this from a forum member last year. 

Happy birthday to my friend, I finished your present just in time. Hope you'll like it. The paper is bought with  you in mind too.

I was packing presents whilst watching Kirstie's homemade Christmas, I really like Kirsty and I love watching programs where I get tips on presents to make or decorations to make, really helps to get in the spirit!

M complained that I didn't really show the bunnies lately, but this is the reason, in the days they do two things, sleep under the stool/table or they mug me for treats before going back to sleep, so there isn't really that much to talk about, but here is a picture of grumpy bunnies trying to sleep.

But I did get to get back at them because Valmin woke me up the other day at seven wit lots of noise, he was doing laps back and forth (why do laps back and forth when he can actually run around the house?) for a while, I couldn't go back to sleep so I got up....

Lots of trees turning into sixty

First off I want to say Happy birthday to my mother, and we look forward to celebrating you next weekend. Hope you will like your present.

I promised to show some ornaments, these trees were super fast and simple, I used thick embroidery wool I already had but were not going to embroider with anytime soon to make these. One skein made about two trees, but some skeins were started so some trees ended up being a little bit creative. I started making these thinking I needed lots of green but then I thought if the recipients wanted to hang their trees on their tree they would be invisible so I made some in other Christmassy colours. And I really like the colour combinations. These days my colour appreciations have been growing, I actually like green now:O

I made another ornament, this one for my friend who loves owls:)

I think they might get a tree garland as well.

The plan was to make some hearts, snowflakes and stars as well, but I got so into making those trees that I just couldn't stop, I made 27 already, but I am keeping some so we will se if it will be only tree garlands or something else as well. Still plenty of time before Christmas!

In my ongoing knitting adventure I am still making hats for Christmas, only three to go, one of which I will crochet, the lonely sock will hopefully have its mate in time for the holidays and the yarn I bought when my mothers local yarn store went out of business is finally started and will become some wash cloths for Christmas.

I think I need to actually finish some of those presents soon if I am going to have time to make about ten more;)

Uh-ee it is Tuesday again and I am naughty again

My new favorite group and my new favorite song.

I know I am weird and thus I listen to weird songs, but that is ok. 

Korean is much more difficult than Japanese, I can hardly follow the lyrics even when I have them in latin letters in front of me. But I will learn those lyrics one day they sound like so much fun!

And I really should take a day and sew in those buttons that have fallen of various clothes so that they become usable again…. But I'd rather be naughty and start something new. I got some yarn from my friends again that they inherited. I am such an yarnoholic and stasher.

Here is the only picture you will see of this until January 2015. Because it is another Christmas present.  Yes I am currently crocheting three Christmas presents and I am adamantly ignoring the more pressing matter of a March birthday and said birthday gift crochet start:P

And those little snowflakes will one day turn into something bigger and presently turn into a present, or rather three.

My Crochet Hook Case is Finished

Halfway through, and yes it is too small….

I mucked up abit, though, more than just the gauge, but I merrily trotted on, I did not let any small mistakes deter me from making a finished object. No Sir. So I winged it after I got stuck. Luckily for me, I got stuck right about halfway through the back, so all I had to do was just pretend everything was alright and do the same as I did on the first side of the back. Turned out ok.

And I added four rows at the top. I think it is just the right size, barely of the hooks.

So now, the case is blocking by itself.

I hope it will turn out to be a success, if so, I am posting the front and better pictures tomorrow. :)

Also, I think I will go through my stash, since this used just one ball of yarn, maybe I have some slightly bigger yarn I can use to make another. That or just use double the white I have used on this one.

Btw, my blanket is chugging along. I am doing it like a pro and sticking to my plan, one square a day. And by the end of the Ravellenics I will have a finished lap-blanket thing. 

Also, I found some more of the yarn I am using to make that blanket too. Yay.

Friday roundup

Want to hear what I have been doing? Except not making much and celebrating my birthday.

Remember this little dude? He now has a home. And his new owner is happy, but the other rabbits in the household is now demanding rabbit ornaments of themselves too.

And I have gotten five christmas cards. And did you know? I finished all 25 cards in time and got them sent on the 16th which is the last post day that they can guarantee that it arrives in time for Christmas.

I was so in a hurry I forgot to take a picture of the last cross-stitched card.

Tomorrow I am going to finish finish the last of the presents. There is just some minor sewing machine fun left. And I am done buying presents too, boyfriend apparently has two left. (one of them is me). 

So maybe he has to go to the mall tomorrow, I am only going to the store for dinner.

I am really hopeful that we can finish everything in time this year and have some fun.

Today is about stars and voyage tea

Can you tell what it is yet? E2 was right, it is the Enterprise. She looks a bit green, but since she is from the 60's series I thought it fitted. I actually love this design, at it is really easy to work on. (just wish the pictures were better, but it gets dark here so fast)

Two of the colours are a bit close to each other, so that proves a bit of a challenge, you can see it in the first nacelle. I solved that by finishing one green colour before starting on the other, as you can see in the other nacelle that is not quite fastened to the rest of the ship. I am actually looking forward to making the one on black aida too. And some nice people at the cross-stitching forum gave me a good idea, just change the colour on the black letters to white or silver. Sparkling of course ;)

 And as predicted I could not find my mistake in this piece, so I just finished it as it were.... I really like it. But have no idea how to finish it neatly.... I want an ornament, or maybe a wall-hanger?

Oh, me and my friends had an idea (mostly me, because I always come up with ideas no one have time for:P)

But it is a secret what it will turn into, atleast for a while more:)

Oh, and I just realised, I need more birthday presents.... The ship is a birthday present for my cousin from his birthday in october:S And my mother has her birthday this month and I have nothing for her. The gift I made last year the angel cloth is still AWOL and I can't seem to find it.... I know where I packed it when we moved, and I remember seeing it in storage, and I know it got in the car to our new place, but I cannot remember packing it out. And there are hardly anywhere else to look now.... Maybe my man has to look for it, he and my mother have an uncanny way of finding things I can never find. And since it is a present for my mother I can't think it is appropriate to ask her to come look for herself:P

We are still watching Voyager, and I find it amusing that I keep drinking voyage tea whilst watching the series. I am rather easy to please I guess;)

Snow

This is what I have been doing this weekend. I made seven of these little snowflakes.

And then, I was being a good girl and taking my angels out, and did all the metallics on it.

And then what did happen? I spilt some tea on my fabric... Fortunately it went away when I washed it. But should I take it as a sign that I should work more on it.? Or less?

Anyway, it is dry now, and stainless and therefor maybe it is time I start on it again?

Today, little girls came at our door and sang the Santa Lucia song, and we got "lussekatter". After my failed attempt at making yellow ones yesterday these tasted so much better. And since I don't work in a kindergarten I thought I would miss that song this year, so I am extra pleased^^

I have also been baking applecake for my birthday.

Together Forever and orange forever

I have started on the orange cat. This one is in more shades. I think they look so cute together.

On another note, today I was at a local yarn store and bought some fabric for a gift. My boyfriend's birthday is in a little more than two weeks. And I am making him something special.

Tadah. I think it will look great. I am not revealing what it will be when it is finished, but I think he will like it. And I think I will make some cute embellishments. Or not cute, but manly and stuff:P He likes it when I make him things. So until then, me and my sewing machine have a date.
