A to Z challenge Theme

I joined the A to Z challenge and will be blogging about things from A to Z starting this Friday.

My theme for these blogposts will be Håndarbeid which is a Norwegian term, directly translated it means hand work, to work with one's hands but the word one would use in English would be needlework.
Since I think the Norwegian version with working with ones hands is more descriptive than just needlework I went with a Norwegian theme.
Traditionally håndarbeid was mostly used to describe working with thread (knitting, crochet, sewing), but later the term started to be used with other things such as woodworking, jewellery making. painting and all other crafty ways one can use ones hands to create something.

I will speak about the things I do with my hands, which is mostly crochet, knitting, sewing, drawing, beading and perhaps the occasional painting all from A to Z.

Handicrafts would also be an acceptable english word to use.

Brenna: Perhaps, thank you.

Tami Von Zalez: Fabric art sounds exciting, I love thrifting too, alas there aren't that many good thrift stores near me but I have found some gems earlier. Thank you for visiting me:)
